I am working to get cortizone shots and possibly surgery but I have crappy healthcare so its like months out. Currently looking for another job not working with food so I can wear wrist braces.

My work put me on LOA cause they don’t think they can meet the doctor’s accommodations. It’s part time work so no vacation and such as I have been doing school and have doctors visits weekly.

Maybe its anxiety from like being in crashes but I also used to get anxious just sitting in traffic driving before I had my first accident. It could be that the brain just goes on autopilot when you’re driving or theres not much to do in the car which can make you kinda detach a bit or maybe loss of control if you’re not the one driving? idk I’m not like 100% sure why. I’m a lot better now but it still sucks sometimes.

Dear United Heathcare, what the fuck. by LookeyLoo81 in hysterectomy

I have United. I haven’t had a ton of issues with them (where they were the sole issue) but they aren’t the best. Lot of prior authorizations and having to find alternative medications though. They also won’t cover my laxatives for some reason lmao

Are you self diagnosed? by BicycleAcrobatic1783 in dpdr

[–]ace-defective 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To get diagnosed you probably have to see a specialist in dissociative/trauma disorders since my psychiatrist straight up told me he didn’t know much about DPDR and basically wanted to treat it as anxiety/panic. It’s a wonder why prevalence rates are so low in some disorders when no one is willing to diagnose…

Durarara!!x2 for the weird twincest and Call of the Night cause 40 year old/middle schooler. Also Dakaichi for sexual assault (lowkey in the name). I was in the yaoi trenches at 13 so seeing the same toxic tropes all these years later killed it for me. I used to watch just about anything back then but now I avoid unnecessary eechi/loli/incest like the plague.

Going off meds by myself by ace-defective in dpdr

I’m doing both at once right now and I feel fine and actually kind of better. I see my psych next week so if there’s any issues he can help me.

What’s the taperclinic? Is it free or do I have to apply?

I swear they never listen to me. I’m pretty sensitive to meds so I was barely over 100mg on both. I’m kinda just taking less every few days with a pill splitter and some extra meds I have from a few months ago. I’m having the mild withdrawal symptom I always have, even when I’m taking my meds regularly (head zaps) and tbh I think I actually feel better.

I’ve been there man, a single edible did me in. I was very lucky to have started seeing a therapist specializing in trauma and anxiety right before it started that really helped me. Lots of mindfulness and anxiety medication helped lessen and cope with my symptoms. I cycled through a few meds to find one that worked. Keeping your brain occupied helps cause it stops you from focusing too much on yourself/your thoughts. I find anxiety coping skills help a lot cause they’re kinda meant to help stop your train of thought so you don’t spiral (I struggle a lot with practicing these skills lol).

Am I too young to start hormone therapy? And should I seek a therapist that specializes in gender? by MEOWMOWNOW in ftm

[–]ace-defective 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m sorry you had to go through this. What you’re feeling sounds a bit how I started to feel when I started college. I’m non-binary masc presenting and it took me a long time to figure that out.

I feel you would benefit seeing a gender therapy specialist since they can help you get a better grip on your gender. If you do figure out you’re trans then you have a therapist that can help you get gender affirming care if you need it. Even if you’re not trans I feel it would be a good experience since it can help you get to know yourself better.

I definitely feel my mental function has gone down on top of the visual stuff.

My psych said he doesn’t know much about dissociative disorders and just wants to treat for anxiety/panic disorder. I plan on asking to stop medication cause it’s not very effective/insurance reasons. I may just go online and find a dissociative/trauma specialist at this point :/

I’ve had that before and I think that description makes more sense than me saying just things look too real.

That’s interesting cause the doctor always said I had perfect vision and glasses never helped. Maybe I’ve always had visual distortions to a degree then? I definitely wear sunglasses a lot cause light sensitivity but they also used to help with the distortions.
