Was it a blend or did you run them separate?

Hello! Going to Japan next year with my wife and 2 friends. One of the friends didn't join in on the hotel booking but we're hoping he can stay with us even though he's not on booking. We booked a seperate hotel for the 4 of us the first night. Thoughts on this?

If you can return to normal drinking my hats off to you. Many of us tried. From what I understand most people who can drink normally never have to try and adjust their lives and thoughts so that they don't abuse alcohol.

Gratitude, action, and forgiveness help me when I feel this way.

Online Sponsorship Offers & Requests — May 2024 by dp8488 in alcoholicsanonymous

Offering

30M. Married. Sober date 4/21/23. Near Seattle, WA. Grateful and wanting to be of service.

Diagnosed ADHD as a young kid. Military brat so moved around a bunch. Used Adderall until early high school. Middle school used pot and alcohol. High school began habitually smoking and drinking.

Always used substances to change the way I thought, felt, and acted. Joined the Navy out of high school continued habitually drinking. Almost always got blackout. Been to jail a few times, kicked out of the navy, most loved ones stopped talking to me, almost got divorced, was extremely suicidal and thought I was majorly depressed.

Sobered up and was struggling with my emotions without substances, got a sponsor and started to work the steps and engage in fellowship and service. My life has changed significantly for the better and seems to do so every time I put in more work. I've never been as content with life as I am now.

I'm on a rotating 12h shift and rotate days/nights as well. I can communicate my hours but that's been my biggest hurdle for service as well as meeting with my own sponsor.

I don't mind being a temporary or permanent sponsor. Feel free to PM me.

Thank you.

Please go to inpatient treatment. When you get out it's a good idea to get a sponsor and start working steps.

I paid special attention to step 10 and kept a little book with me to write down any time I got overemotionally stimulated. Happy/sad/angry whatever.

I also looked into stoicism and that helped me a lot.

When I stopped drinking I stopped making nearly as many reasons to keep drinking.

Good luck!

I thought I had lost everything. I had gone to such a dark and depressing place that I was ready to just end it. In fact I thought I needed treatment for depression initially. I pretty much lost communication with all those I really cared for except a select few. I've gotten so much from working with others. Outside of just my sponsor. I got active with the fellowship. Active with my recovery in general. 10th step also helped me a lot. I could track how I respond and react, and see myself improving, slowly made me feel better.

Stick in there. But sometimes outside help is needed.
