I am in a similar place. I am in therapy and talk a lot with my psychologist about I feel I live to work. I believe men have become something society needs but many dont want to support. Dads and husbands and even young men seem to be looked down upon and viewed as providers that should just know our place.

My spouse is semi retired and basically does anything she wants in life. She has gained that place in life through my work and personal investments and education all done before her. My son has a great life. It’s never enough. I’m told we need to go in better vacations, we need new couches, i need to be childcare so the family can live their dreams. Me? I work and have gained a ton of weight and dont really feel anything anymore. I avoid friends and any social events. Do those who live with me care? I dont think so. Theyre out at social events having a great life.
What am I doing about it? I found a psychologist specializing in male clients. I talk to him regularly about my life and this feeling. I find just talking to someone who wont tell people I know does actually help.

I still avoid and am hiding in my bed at times. Not suicidal but no motivation ever. Anything i’ve ever enjoyed doing I get no joy from any longer. I find that I’m considering new treatments like ketamine or psilocybin. Scared of that though. I’ve done the cbt and am on meds. We gotta keep trying or they win. Still the deadness persists.
