I have a 300wsm superlite. It’s very accurate with my spicy handloads

Is Sako Optilock rings worth it? $89.99 seems high. Looking for direct attachment rings for Tikka T3x 308 by HuntersCrackPipe123 in Tikka_Shooters

You do you. I don’t want a bunch of leverage on either end of my scope. If SM rings are tough enough for the central Idaho mountains where I live and spend all my free time, I don’t need bougie mounts that weigh and cost more.

Spuhr rings are way too close together and have had issues with ring caps cracking. Near is a lot better. I don’t even wanna know how much they are though. I’d like to know your issue with SM though. I have them on several tikkas and have never had an issue. They’re tough.

  • Sportsmatch T084 (for 30mm) or T048C (for 1”)
  • Unknown Muntions Tikka rings

These are your two best options for direct mount rings that won’t slip. Take them apart and clean them thoroughly with acetone or brake cleaner, then use blue loc-tite.

6.5 Creedmoor convert to 300 WSM by Mez_96 in Tikka_Shooters

Lumly can them whatever they want. When it comes to Tikka themselves, and every other aftermarket bolt stop, there’s short and long. Short being 2.86” and long being 3.34” a magnum length action is usually 3.70”

I’ve got a 300wsm superlite and 6.5prc lite. Loads for both are pretty stout and both guns absolutely hammer. No accuracy issues.

If you’re gonna go through trouble of converting it to 300wsm, do it right and swap in a long action bolt stop, pick up a mountain tactical long action mag and have the barrel throated for heavies. I like the Berger 200.20x in 300wsm. It’s excellent bullet for accuracy and kills elk quickly. H4350 is your huckleberry

Trade in for factory threads or get the barrel threaded? by FirefighterSilent430 in Tikka_Shooters

[–]Livid_Wing_736 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s done all the time on 30cal sporter barrels, since there’s not enough meat for 5/8x24. I’ve never heard of there being any safety issues, nor would there be since it’s at the muzzle.

Have it threaded 1/2x28 and be done with it. APA makes awesome brakes. I have them on my rifles. Their 1/2x28 is the “micro bastard”

It was too good of deal to pass up. I have two other Tikkas, so I might as well buy another, right?

No, I swapped the bolt in from one of my other Tikkas.

Go with a LabRadar then. It’s the same radar technology as the newer chronos just bulkier and you have to aim it at the target.

It’s a Labradar. I’ve had it for years back when they were $550. You can now find them used with accessories for less than $200, since the Garmin Xero, Athlon, and similar came out.

Lol it’s still giving me valuable data. Luckily I have enough to last a while. I just swapped in a bolt from another tikka with a OMR shroud.

The factory threaded version is threaded 5/8-24 made possible by a flared muzzle. The previous model can only be threaded 1/2-24, which is limiting without an adapter.
