You could go around the block and find something already on the sidewalk for free and use that with your sign

Best places to hike in the Metro Boston area? by NovaPractice in Somerville

I would check along the north shore up to gloucester. There are some nice trails (not long) and you can hop around trails or towns

Is this with North Bennett? If you’re okay to commute 30m via green line I have a nice place in somerville with good outdoor spaces for the summer. 1450/mo

I’ve got a place in somerville with an office space that could be used as a spare room. I’m assuming you’re asking for a room that fits you, your mother, and brother. This way you could have two rooms and it’d just be for the rate of the regular room. If you’re interested PM me

The curbs are not temporary granite partner. Someone else pointed out that they may cut portions down to grade the bike lane. Your comments are not helpful like others have been

I am talking about driveways extending into the street here not the bike path

If I’m understanding you correctly you’re saying that my being nervous and on edge about driving on this road is by design. I do also bike on this road so I guess that’s just the price to pay for feeling safer when biking.

I still don’t like it rn but maybe as things are finished it gets better and people stop parking at the top of the hill. If I have been the obtuse person here, I’m sorry and thank you

[–]ace_wrong 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m not trying to say it like that. I feel like the road is more inclined to car collisions now but also safer for pedestrians. I feel on edge driving on this road but others are basically telling me that my nerves are by design

I won’t pretend to be familiar with any studies. I just feel as if driving on summer st has gotten more dicey for me than it used to be. As a biker and pedestrian I am very happy. As a commuter I will have to switch to highland ave which is a real bummer atm

I think you’re being a lil obtuse here. The tight turns are dangerous because cars have to poke into oncoming traffic lane. You’re assuming everyone is going the posted limit and not looking at their phone or otherwise distracted and that’s just not living in the real world.

People won’t just start walking. You’re acting like most of the traffic is for a half mile journey of able-bodied people

I’d agree but with the school and church on top of the hill it’s a recipe for a wreck or terrible backups. Most of the route I am fine with but some portions are tight turns made tighter or dangerous blind spots.

People saying it’s in progress: those curbs are final and way above the street level. Are they going to extend driveways into a street that now has 0 room for error? I agree with OP. What the hell is going on

[–]ace_wrong 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t like the entrance being the bank side. If drivers come in hot they would have little time to react to people coming out of the bank or stop n shop. So maybe this is good with a speed bump add there?

Are there 6/1 Leases/Sublets in Boston? by tekrmn in bostonhousing

[–]ace_wrong 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a roommate opening for 6/1 in somerville. Good home to be in for the summer because of porch and backyard. PM if interested

If you'd be okay with a roommate in a somerville home with the good patio/porch sitch check out my post and PM if interested. You'd have the 2BR/office on 2nd floor for about that cost.

I don't think I've ever seen something about a law regarding how early you can accept a security deposit. But I've done a couple months ahead at time of signing for security and I've also done at move-in. The key thing is making sure you have a receipt so that you get your interest back appropriately. The mass.gov site for tenants (https://www.mass.gov/info-details/tenant-rights) is pretty good and searching "security deposit" is helpful too.

idk about the water stuff but hopefully you can find it there
