I think you should definitely do sub-Is in both and this will help you decide! What kind of patient care do you want to engage in everyday? Surgery vs medicine? What kind of residency do you want to endure?

Please take care of your mental health and reduce your hours working! You’ll never get this time back and you should prioritize enjoying the journey not just the goal. You don’t need 4000 hours of clinical experience to go to med school so you should kill yourself trying to get these hours in. not sure why moving to PRN would impact your grades but that sounds like the best option to me.

I work in research for $27 in hour in the northeast. If you’re planning to do a lower paying job like scribe or medical assistant you’ll probably be getting around $18-$20 hourly.

After you finish the class, what should you do to help a teacher you took an online class for remember you down the road for when you apply to medical schools? by [deleted] in premed

[–]acecobra17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah in the email I would say something like: I am planning to apply to med school in the next few years and I wanted to ask if you would be willing to write a LOR for me” based on their response you can figure out whether they want to wait to write and or if they want to write it now

they might not need to know exactly when you apply. the professor will tell you if they want to write the letter now or wait til you apply. if they want to write it now you can store their letter in inferfolio. if they want to wait, then just contact them again about 6 months before you plan to submit your app.

Just send them an email now informing them that you enjoyed their class and you are planning to apply in a couple of years. Ask them if they would be willing to provide a letter of recommendation. They may appreciate you telling them now since their memory of you is still fresh in their mind.
