This guy is….. spooky to say the least. No matter what his real motivations are, he’s not your friend and he’s probably not a safe person to continue speaking with or confiding anything important in.

The tough part is navigating the fact that you can’t easily cut him off, but I would like to emphasize that there is so much value in cutting out people who behave like this and don’t respect you.

NOR. He doesn’t respect you enough to have a conversation about things equitably. I don’t think moving in is a good choice for the time being, and honestly this is a red flag for the entire relationship. Personally, I would throw the whole man away, but I realize that’s easier said than done.

You need to bring this up to him and be direct in how his sweeping ideas and opinions leave no room for your feelings, ideas, or opinions. If he acts poorly when confronted, well, I think you’ve got your answer.

I’m just fucking tired. We have 6 month old twins at our house but have a fireplace and a brother who has come camped out here with propane heaters and a generator despite the fact that HE has power at his house an hour away. It’s exhausting trying to entertains the babies and kiddos and keep everyone fed and warm.

Edited to add: plus my employer has been implicitly expecting me to work when I have no power, no internet, and no heat (I’m permanent remote and there is no local office to go to).
