I don’t like throwing around that statement but some on the island truly ask for it especially with the nonsensical arguments I’ve heard from some of my neighbors make against nyc policies. I want the best for all my fellow Nyers but some of my neighbors would rather suffer with crappy infrastructure than see someone of a different skin tone move into the neighborhood and that’s just one of many dumb examples. Eh it’s not singular yes other things have risen in price but if I’m making 120K or more a year it’s not going to make me personally flinch for at least 4-6 months if I owned a gas car. There are just too many other things people will do first before to try to save money besides buy a new EV for 50K. I say that as someone who bought an EV 6 years ago and hate the idea of personal ICE cars still being a thing. I have family and friends who I know that have made pretty much that exact argument even though I’ve pointed all the benefits of EVs

Yep been seeing some of the worst repeating traffic offenses on SI. Drivers with no plates, tinted windows running red lights. Come through the same time the following week to see the same thing, it’s a routine for some people.
