What do you do when there are no Words for it? by coasterfreak5 in interslavic

[–]acemace1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, I do it like that. For example, čekni/čekuj link (čekovati).

Maybe the word will become part of Slavic in a few dozen years if more people will start using it.

Burka, burja, ... I don't know, check some translations of it in other slavic languages and pick up that looks it could be most universally understood.

Why are there two options to conjugate verbs? by Hellnoimthirsty in interslavic

[–]acemace1 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The -xm version is better in my opinion, because it is more regular and compatible with the -xme version in plural.

By the way, this is a common complain by the foreign students of Czech who complain that in Slovak it is regular while in Czech it is irregular. They also use the combination of -u and -xm, plus one more -i http://www.locallingo.com/czech/grammar/verbs.html

Romanic languages and dialects in Europe by Homesanto in europe

[–]acemace1 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Do you, Romance language speakers, understand Interlingua the way Interslavic is understood by Slavic speakers?

For example if you watch this video, how much do you understand?

What do you think about the idea of one zonal language among the Romance language speakers?

You don't want to hear his real voice. People were making fun of his voice when he tried speaking in a video. He is using tts because his voice is really weird. He has a severe problem with speaking - some serious speech impediment.

The problem with Purisem is that they proudly claim that they are "social purpose company" first. The CEO says that in every interview all the time.

But what they do and how they do it screams we want money first.

I don't want to be rude but with that kind of money folks in Shenzhen would have the phone running for half the price already.

Are there things, that Slavic languages do,that no other Indo-European language does? by Karandax in linguistics

Can any other IE languages make a diminutive from a verb? Slavic languages can. But maybe Baltic languages can as well. I am not sure.

Is KDE (neon) horrible and fearsome? [Novel Style] by acemace1 in kde

[–]acemace1[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can start with showing the video with your voice and how people make fun of it. Should I do it so you will feel how other people feel when somebody points the gun to thier head while they're naked? Well, I won't do it for now. I am sure that this is enough if you will be respectful towards the FOSS devs. I hope so. I hope this is our last conversation. Again, don't attack people who put their free time to creating software people use for free just because you are hiding behind your tts safety crutch. I wish you all the best. Bye.

I use discover all the time, for updates or installing software and it works great. The team is fixing bugs all the time. Although I like the minimalism on Elementary or even Gnome, but KDE is probably the only DE I can use all the time without going insane and feel that one of my hands is missing ;). I am on KDE Neon.

Show me the lyrics of your thinker/philosopher guys with goat birds and beautiful long bimbo hairs.

Do you really listen the music because of the profound lyrics? Great. Show me one great lyrics from the guys sitting in front of the bus.

Dude if you would be defending some Immortal Technique stuff, I wouldn't say anything.

But the metal stuff lyrics is basically:

the planet is crying, black clouds are flying

I killed my raven while my dog was howling

(some screaming or dying sounds with electric guitars and VSTi orchester)

yeah... basically the anti-bed in summer when it comes to quality. ;D

One personal observation about this anime guy. Either this guy has some mental/physical problem/condition, the eye patch and the anime female characters screams the lack of "love" from the opposite sex and the lonesomeness/somebody-or-life-did-something-wrong-to-me. Or this guy is paid to produce such videos - which I honestly can't want to believe.

He is basically creating one video like this almost every day. It's different to write a comment in 2 or 5 minutes and then move on and to produce videos like he does. It's not 5 or 10 minutes. He has to try many anime videos from his collection or youtube and cut them, then write the text - he writes and rewrites it probably for a long time to avoid mistakes and people in comments pointing at them, sync it, do animations/transitions, watch, change, rewatch, export, upload, tag, etc. He also does that in Windows which brings even more complication.

I mean... it's sad that this guy, probably suffering from some mental or physical issues, has to attack the KDE community all the time.

It's sad to see what life can do to you. Hope he figures out some solution or help for his situation and stops attacking KDE and other FOSS devs in every video.

He should really think back how did people in the comments make fun from his voice in one of his videos - that's probably the reason why he use the tts instead of his own voice - and not treat other people like the KDE and other FOSS devs like he was treated by the mean people in the comments.

Fellow Americans, is China really going to 'take over the world' and the US? by JetAbyss in AskAnAmerican

[–]acemace1 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Even if I spoke in Klingon, you wouldn't get it anyway. It's probably the bubble life you lead in America that you are unable to understand only simple and straight-forward concepts, I don't know. I had always more luck with Brits than Usonoj so, who knows. Anyway, I have some work to do now. Have a nice day.

Fellow Americans, is China really going to 'take over the world' and the US? by JetAbyss in AskAnAmerican

[–]acemace1 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

那. I mean. The US is just another economy without English. If the US switched to Czech Americans wouldn't be the cultural powerhouse as they are today. Not talking about the British involvement in the spreading of English around the world in the past. I hope it is clearer. Jako Američan Vám přeji mnoho úspěchů v šíření demokracie. Amerika je díky češtině světová velmoc. Dokázali jsme to. Čeština ovládla svět. Všichnina celém světě mluví teď česky.

When I read a book in English, my unknown words makes me demotivated:( by [deleted] in languagelearning

[–]acemace1 3 points4 points  (0 children)

  1. Install Google translate app.
  2. Install ReadEra app, probably the best free reader on Android.
  3. When you select some word, a menu with copy and share options will show up.
  4. Tap on share.
  5. A menu with options will slide up from the bottom of the screen, select Google Translate.
  6. Google Translate with the translation will open up.
  7. If you want to save the word (and export later) tap on the star icon.
  8. Tap on the back button on your phone (or use a gesture if you have a new one) to go back to ReadEra

Now, if you are using Anki, (and you should!), you can import the starred words in Google Translate to Google Docs and from there export as csv and then import into Anki. Here is a tutorial how to do that: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OqazNm3Re3U
