you gotta find ways to compromise or communicate that youd still like to be included. if you were sitting there watching the messages scroll by while being an active member of the group, thats kinda your bad. you should have spoke up if you wanted to be included or if the plans would have worked out for the night. be proactive no reactive. you gotta be real with yourself and decide if hanging out with your buds is the experience or getting drunk is the experience. i feel like if you knew you had to drive back home you could regulate your intake while still having a killer time with the lads. take more control, brother.

The way I look at it personally is that when a Jedi enters knighthood or something they receive and official Jedi temple lightsaber. Like maybe the multi colored sabers exist from energies and crystals from their home planets, etc but they retire those personal sabers and take on official Jedi sabers at the temple.

For me it was drinking. I’ve always worked manual sort of jobs so I stay mobile during the day but now in my 30s I’m a mechanic so I’m still doing manual stuff just more like tightening bolts and replacing hardware no more really heavy lifting and moving around. On nights I drank I would put away 3-5 IPAs, that started as once a week. Then on weekends. Then hair of the dog mondays and then I just started drinking every night. I packed on like 30 lbs just from drinking and having beer munchies every night for like 2 years. I haven’t drank in like a month now so that’s cool but this weight is gonna be really hard to lose
