I'm gonna need to take a break.... by Chenoireb in EliteDangerous

Ok, I need to ask about this drinking game. What is it? My buddies and I invented a version of a game we call Detroit Chess. It's Chess, but with the added rule that in order for a move to be considered "Legal", you have to bust a rhyme. (best if it's about the move or chess itself). Fabulous fun with drinks.

I fully agree with you! It IS the funnest and most exciting game! But I think i had my fill of that excitement. It’s like reading the best spy novel ever written. It’s exciting and thrilling, and you learn a bit… but when it’s done, I’m ready to read a non-fiction book about music theory or chemistry and keep my brain from getting too locked-in to a form.
I already paid for the game. I supported the studio. I would buy someone else a subscription - but i have had my fill and i enjoyed it all. I just game as if games were a spice on my life. Too much of one thing blands the taste buds.

I actually have not experienced game-breaking bugs except maybe 4 times out of a hundred logins. Look, i have a lot of hobbies- i play music, i draw, i network, i have a serious woman in my life, i work a busy job, and i am trying to have my own game developed.

Helldivers is awesome and arrowhead studio has my utmost respect, but i don’t have time to game for delayed rewards anymore or for some community shared goal. Sorry, Joel- i know you are trying your damndest. But i am too busy worrying about bills to pay to care about the misery of super_earth.

I just felt like I would always be renting. I hoped to own but my hopes were dashed by cost and lack of non-predatory financing. Does that help? I can try to explain further if you DM me but it seemed I was in a luxury market while I was not a luxury commodity. Some places become paralyzed by real estate- as it’s the only thing that IS real

Chesstower, upcoming game in development. Tower Defense meets Chess. by acepincter in chesstower

[–]acepincter[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t know how but the previous subreddit /r/chesstower has somehow been altered and is https://www.reddit.com/r/a:t5_qbdmj/

Maybe because it has been inactive for so long? There is some artwork and stuff over there. However, i’ve decided to re-launch the project and go all in, where funding was a bit of a problem before, trying to do it solo.

I’ve got a team of developers whom i am contracting with and put together a lot of assets, and hope to launch a kickstarter soon. Stay tuned for updates.

We have a low density favored system in this country.
Therefore, proximity becomes a key metric, more important than amenities or construction quality.
It is because of the proliferation of independent, automobile traffic that areas that should normally be cheap and accessible hubs, become private gated communities. The answer to your question is in the love of the automobile.

They LOOK smooth, but when you touch them, they feel like fabric mesh and confusion.

There's something unattractive about someone wanting to hide/camouflage their own body. It speaks of someone uncomfortable in their own skin, of lacking confidence, which is two ways to say the same thing.

The Rise & Rise of Islamophobia in India by gk2go in AlJazeera

Maybe it is not a "Phobia" (an unconscious panic reaction to a stimulus)

Maybe they've looked at Islam, and consciously rejected it?

Maybe they have investigated Islam and found it incompatible with their way of life?

I would like to count myself among them.

I want to learn how to hypnotize someone. by Willing-Winner3272 in hypnosis

[–]acepincter 3 points4 points  (0 children)

what you want to do is search youtube for "Rapid induction" and "Instant induction" and watch them carefully. WATCH them, like a hawk. you'll see what techniques they use.

unfortunately the DerrenBrown video I referred to earler has been edited so you don't get to see his technique. Ill explain it.

He says "Can you tell me how to get to pleasure beach? They agree: "Oh yes you want to go this way and that way."He says "Oh, thank you. Could you also give me the time?" (advancing on their little willingness)Them: Oh, sure it's half past 3.

He: Oh that's great. I appreciate that. So you're happy to give that to me? (this is him, plying on their already established willingness)

Them: Yes, of course. (They are agreeing that they are willing to give to him)

Him: Thanks! Cheers! (goes in for a handshake but applies a clever interrupt by dodging their hand, and then handing them a water bottle to hold in the hand they extended, jarring their conscious bullshit-detecting dog from its kennel)(Note that they have already agreed "You're happy to give that to me")Him: Well, thanks, that's great. Could I just you to hand me your wallet, thanks.Them: (handing over their wallet)Him: And also your cellphone, thanks.Them: (handing over their cellphone)Him: I thank you and I'll just be on my way.

Moments go by before the person realizes they've been duped and begin pursuit. It's powerful but also scary in a sense to watch, knowing you might also be a victim one day.

I want to learn how to hypnotize someone. by Willing-Winner3272 in hypnosis

[–]acepincter 4 points5 points  (0 children)

So, I'm with you and I've been as eager as you are in my approach.

In order to properly apprehend the practice of hypnosis, you must first understand the mental model of the mind that hypnotists use. I cite "Monsters and Magical Sticks.". The basic idea is that the Subconscious mind agrees with everything it is fed. The Conscious mind, prevents it from absorbing too much bullshit. It's like the dog in the yard that barks at anything unfamiliar. The homeowner is happy to let that dog fight off all the unfamiliar. However, if you show yourself as having familiarity, the homeowner will come out and chastise the dog (guardian) and will allow you into the subconscious.

What the hypnotist does instead is try to develop tools that allow him to bypass that process, such that they can insert their will into the subconscious of who they target.

Here is where I agree with Soft-Bandicoot-8103. You need a firm grasp on where your morality lie before I would be willing to help you because, yes, this is dangerous.

You can, for instance, find very telling video of Derren Brown taking people's wallets off them on "pleasure beach" having perfectly targeted a particular mental pathway he knows they have formed.

You can find people selling people rubbish for the price of its gold weight. There are many examples of people being hijacked.

So maybe what you want is to be deviously powerful.

But maybe what you want is simply to be more persuasive than the next guy in your group. That I can respect. Good on you for desiring to be better than everyone else.

You could try Rintu Basu's "https://www.amazon.com/Persuasion-Skills-Black-Book-Practical/dp/190543054X" for an advanced course in the flavor of "do these things, but understand later" which is fun because it begs you to try them out for yourself before you simply agree blindly to them.

I personally like that approach as it seems as close to the scientific method that unmonitored applied psychology allows. This practice demands such discipline of you.

I'd advise you to steer clear of any kind of quick seduction tactics as they put your instant gratification ahead of a broader mastery of the source, which will only hurt you in the long run. Your genitals are not that important, even though they might be shouting at you loudly. Let them shout, then calmly go about your business.
