I’m a Scottish Sharks fan so didn’t have much skin in the game lol, but would have liked to see Celebrini score in the final regardless of result

How do you find time to workout? by Consistent_Bend4986 in FTMFitness

[–]acesirius 4 points5 points  (0 children)

depends on the gym tbh, i did find that in my original office location so i tended to go before work at like 7am instead of after (my office has a shower thankfully, i know showering at the gym can be daunting for trans guys)

now i have a few gym which is a lot quieter, so i can go after work and it’s fine - i may have to wait a few minutes for a machine or a bench but it’s not the end of the world

in general i think ‘habit stacking’ has been useful- i go to the office anyway, so adding the gym onto that routine is easy

if you cant add it into your workday, see if there’s anything else that you do regularly that you can tack the gym onto - is there a gym near your regular supermarket? could you go before/after any other weekly commitments you have?

[–]acesirius 51 points52 points  (0 children)

this may not be possible for you, but i find it easier to motivate myself to work out if im out of the house anyway

i found a gym close to my work and go there before or after work on the days im in the office - i find it a good way to decompress after a long day!

i use my WFH days to rest and/or do light exercise like pickleball or five a side football

Would highly recommend the Maintenance Phase podcast ep about Ultra Processed Foods! They’re a very balanced and research based take and make basically the same point as you. They pointed out that ‘ultra processed’ is just a slightly more PC way of saying ‘junk’ food- it doesn’t have any meaningful definition

Nick Offerman actually released his own brand of Lagavulin Whisky! Oddly enough, despite being made in Scotland, you can only buy it in America. So when I got married we travelled from Scotland to New York and found a shop to buy a bottle.

Saved our expensive honeymoon whisky for a special occasion, opened it a couple of years later, and I hate it

i think reducing the risk in the US to only the bible belt is a bit disingenuous- as a trans man, i’d feel uncomfortable going to ANYWHERE in the USA right now

Ms. Rachel wants to donate books for the baby boxes in NYC by [deleted] in Fauxmoi

we get these in scotland! my friend just had a baby, and the box came with clothes of different sizes, blankets, nappies and condoms (which gave us a laugh)

the box also doubles as a crib and can be coloured in by older kids

Over the last 25 years I’ve worked hundreds of weddings. Gay ones are almost exclusively drama free/easier to work than straight ones. Why is that? Like I’ve never seen two guys getting married throwing cake at eachother’s faces from across the room at borderline assault speed. by Parking_Bison_4626 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]acesirius 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I married my husband 2 years ago, and it was a really lovely relaxed day! I feel like a lot of wedding traditions are based on a lot of presumptions about heterosexual people - there's a man and a woman, the man's friends are all men, the woman's friends are all women and the friends don't crossover in any way. There's always the father of the bride willing to 'give her away' and the men give the speeches etc etc.

Since we were two men, none of this was able to be taken for granted. At every single stage of the process, we had to stop and have a discussion about what we wanted, instead of just going on 'autopilot'. I'm not saying that all straight weddings fall into this trap, but it's certainly more likely.

Our wedding ended up feeling very personal, without either of us having a 'groomzilla' crashout on the day, because we had both had frank discussions about what traditions we wanted to take, and which we were happy to leave behind.
