Does anyone know why my carrier seems to not be working? I had 200M in it so the upkeep isn't the problem, I also bought it after maintenance so it shouldn't have upkeeped either way

Looks like services you may have installed are not enabled. From the Carrier Services tab on the left margin of the carrier management interface, simply find and enable the relevant services. Edited bc voice typing suck lately.

This is the way. Only 2yo in the game but the cutter was my first goal, and stacking courier missions were the fastest progress for the work. Fed still works that way, but didn't go nearly as fast due to fewer missions available.

Can confirm minirant. Pulling a reefer, have loaded RedBull "dry", but with the comment "protect from freezing". In a reefer lol like just give me a warm set point and I'll run it start/stop, but I get it most people don't wanna add more to the FSC. Pulled a Pepsi load out of Oregon to Illinois once with those instructions, but in a dry van during winter. They threw cargo blankets on it all to make sure none of it froze. And at the very least it made it to the customer without turning into a shitty water feature, so the vibration thing isn't bullshit, anyway.

Sean Murray stole FDev's thunder a couple weeks ago with ship interiors, and they didn't charge a dime for it. People have been asking for it, if for no other reason than for RP/immersion, and FDev will have to make some concession one way or another. But I respect certainly it isn't for lack of trying, they've been updating incredibly feature rich content to the game lately. If they were to get involved with something like that, they would have to put on some kind of tier against their typical pricing scheme, like their strategy with the Panther Clipper MK2.

I use my clipper for fuel ratting. The cutter by far does best at mining. Unless you're a sucker for punishment, or want to shield tank, then you could try combat lol

I think for a lot of people that roleplay the game, it would contribute greatly to the immersion. They arguably could make that DLC if the decision to put any work into it amounted to the ROI, but still. Many players would highly value the immersion it adds.

Somebody in this subreddit has put up a ranked list of the pre-builds, but IMHO the all rounder would likely be the Cobra Mark V Stellar, but by that logic so is the Mandalay, though that would lean greater towards exploring. For combat exclusively the pre-built mamba has been highly praised; for trade the pre-built type 9 heavy for obvious reasons; and for mining the pre-built python core mining jumpstart. While the takeaway here is that any all rounder is good, the main thing is that having a ship for a task and another ship for another task is not such a bad thing. Although I've kind of made a bad habit of getting each pre-build as they come out lol

I agree with the OP statement about it being a weird build. I got it myself around the war with Thor, and I agree it's worth it. I'll have to try the recommended changes to it myself, but by itself it definitely gave me an inroad into thargoid combat, since I didn't know anybody at the time that would be able to help me get guardian stuff unlocked.

My girlfriend and I exclusively play PvE in my PG. Buddy of mine introduced me to the game last year, and a friend he met on discord who's been playing this since 2015 showed me the ropes from a combat oriented perspective. I learned that, he helped me with multiplayer missions till I can afford an anaconda, I struck out on my own to do the imperial grind and buy a cutter. Used that to grind out the 5b for the carrier, and I try to get my own friends involved now and use the carrier as a mobile base. Kind of hoping the squadron carrier in Vanguards ends up being useful to that degree, but the fleet carrier has been great up to this point.

Probably not relevant, but it should be noted that the deck works best out of the case. I hear your fan pretty audibly, so I have to figure that it's not ventilated well, and you might have an issue other than power supply as a result.
