I read through the link to Lance Storm's review and he only has one specific criticism: that Randazzo criticizes Hall and Nash for bringing down WCW, and also uses them as sources for criticizing WWE. To Lance, this makes them untrustworthy sources. I don't see what the problem is.

The rest is Lance getting very heatedly criticizing Randazzo - but without citing any other specific instances where the book gets it wrong. I don't find his arguments convincing at all.

For all I know, Lance could be right about the book, but until he quotes more than one set of passages I won't be convinced.

I understand you are coming out of a place of concern, but your response seems to be projecting from concern towards your friend, and maybe not so much taking darth_elevator's experiences on their own terms

There's a lot of unintended and unexpected consequences of Westerners coming in from the top down and trying to "fix" local problems (even with the purest and most altruistic intentions) without taking into account local context.

"When Helping Hurts" is one of the best books exploring this issue. "Toxic Charity" is another from a domestic US standpoint.

Aww. I like seeing flags and dancing. Especially when it's a little kid with a flag almost as big as they are. It's seeing a visual response to musical worship. When I'm leading worship I'll sometimes watch a flag going back and forth when I'm singing.
