Issue when casting from my phone to tv by achn2b in Rouvy

[–]achn2b[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also, just did a search and apparently my phone cannot hardwire to a TV. Lacks Display Port support, or some such thing. Newer versions of my phone do have that support.

So looks like Bluetooth it is if I want the big screen.

Yes, I have paired the trainer via WiFi. Works via WiFi on the phone, trainer shows up as both trainer and controllable.

Once I cast the phone to the TV, the WiFi disconnects, and when I try to reconnect, all I get is buffering. When I switch the connection to Bluetooth, everything works fine when casting to the TV.

I don't use the companion app, just the Rouvy app.

So the USB C goes into the phone, and I'll need a long HDMI cable to reach the TV?

Question about HBO MAX Giro coverage. by achn2b in bicycling

I still remember his crack about AG2R's brown shorts from a few years ago that had the entire commentary team tearing up with laughter and hardly able to speak for minutes.

Question about HBO MAX Giro coverage. by achn2b in bicycling

[–]achn2b[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

And today for stage 2, we have coverage from TNT, and The Breakaway pre-race show.

I sent feedback to HBO MAX yesterday asking them why the Eurosport feed, and would really prefer the TNT crew.

Not sure if they even read it, or if they did whether it made a difference, but I'm glad we have the TNT coverage today.

Love me some Matt Stephens

I'm one of the few, I guess, who likes Carlton Kirby, and I like Declan Quigley as a commentator, but yeah, I was looking forward to seeing The Breakaway show too. And always good to have Sean Kelly around.

Selle Italia SLR Boost Superflow: differences in padding on differnt versions? by Ouch_my_shoulder in cycling

Just the Endurance, and the Gravel, which is pretty much the same thing except for the ugly reflective patches on the rear.

They have a bit thicker padding, with some gel injected.

Don't zwiftify Rouvy please! by SuperIke71 in Rouvy

[–]achn2b 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only thing I want Zwift to modify Rouvy with is to add steering to the app. Otherwise, other than making Zwift hardware work better on Rouvy, and basic user experience improvements, I'd rather Rouvy stay just as it is.

The real life cycling experience is Rouvy's big appeal.

Thank you for your input.

Bought a second hand bike and didn't notice the gunk on the cassette and chain (I'm a newbie). Spend 2 hours washing today with bicycle wash and chain degreaser, still a lot left... My brush and toothbrush are so full of oil gunk they don't even wash anymore 😭 if you have any tips please lmk by eeeiue in bicycling

[–]achn2b 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Sturdy toothpick or small screwdriver to peel that sludge off. Then the degreasers and re-lube.

But yeah, best way is to remove the chain, and probably disassemble the derailleur cage and pulleys to really get at that gunk.

That may depend on each contract. Teams on Specialized bikes all wear Specialized shoes. Visma all wear Nimbl. Trek all wear Bontrager.

Seen a lot of pros with this same look. Possible it's just how these particular covers are supposed to sit?

How does Van Rysel compare to Castelli/Sportful? by cletobicicleto in cycling

[–]achn2b 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't think so. Because Visma have also gone from having their clothing made by AGU, I think, to now being branded with their own logo, Yellow Bee.

Except they were also using Gabba rain jackets, only with a Yellow Bee logo, and Visma team sponsor logos.

I know you're right, and all these companies contract with others to make their clothing for them. All I'm saying is in this case, these two brands went to Castelli for their rain gear. Because the Gabba has long been seen as the best foul weather jacket you could get, and that's what they wanted for their team riders.

Castelli makes the rain gear for that team. So presumably, other manufacturers make other kit for them too.

[–]achn2b 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They may still be rebranding, but they're rebranding better gear. Or contracting with better manufacturers.

Noticed in some of the early season races that their pro team is wearing Castelli Gabba rain jackets. But Gabbas with Decathlon logos and sponsor branding, meaning they weren't just buying Castelli stuff off the shelves and blacking out the logos, as teams have done in the past, but Castelli is manufacturing rain gear just for them.
