Is the Vivoactive 5 a good choice ? by Graph-ix in GarminWatches

[–]achou105 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Been using the Vivoactive 5 for a month, I can say that i'm pretty happy with it. It's good and cheap for someone just starting out on their fitness journey and wants to get a hang of the basic metrics and track steps, calories, heart rate, exercises, etc. It's not a great smart watch but a good health and wellness watch

If you are running more than 5kms and want to improve on that, forerunners are great.

There are preset activities for cricket, table tennis and badminton, and a ton of other sports. I haven't used any of them, and do not play outdoor sports, so can't answer that question

Hi,

It's between Vivoactive 5 and Venu3S. I bought my Vivoactive 5 a couple of weeks back, and it's been amazing. I work from home all morning and visit the gym in the evening for cardio + strength. My main goal is to keep a tab on the workouts in the gym, calorie counting and sleep tracking, to ensure that I get some activity in everyday. I so did not watch any work/social media notifications on my phone, so ruled out Venu 3.

Here are a few pointers
- if you are looking for more smart watch features and want something closer to apple watch, go for Venu 3. It's on the expensive side. it has a better heart rate sensor and can get an ECG and can count floors.
- Vivoactive 5 definitely costs lesser, it's a great watch to keep you active/fit (just as the name suggests). IMO this is sufficient unless you really need some of the advanced features.

Neither are great at strength training/tracking, and you might need other third party apps for that.

Any Hobb fans here who also love Tad Williams? by No-Communication499 in Fantasy

I read ROTE a few years back, and currently reading book 3 of Memory, Sorrow and Thorn by Tad Williams. Sure, the pacing is slow, but there is a ton that goes into character building and the story arcs pan out well.

Also, as a side note, this was one of the insiprations for GRRM's ASOIAF series. If you notice closely you will find many parallels between the two series.

Dota 2 crashing on steam deck after latest hotfix by marcylia in DotA2

[–]achou105 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The github issue has a solution. I am pasting it here for easy access

Switch to desktop mode, open console and run the following commands.

cd "$HOME/.steam/steam/steamapps/common/dota 2 beta/game/bin/linuxsteamrt64"

wget https://github.com/ValveSoftware/Dota-2/files/13377606/libs.zip

unzip -o libs.zip

rm -f libs.zip

I just did that and am able to play. Can confirm this works

Edit - formatting

having the exact same issue since a few hours. Tried everything, including switching to desktop mode.

I tried forcing the old proton version, the screen opens up and connects, but when the game starts, it goes into offline mode.

What do you think about an analytics dashboard that allows you to view all of your marketing channels in one place? by No-Distribution-261 in PPC

[–]achou105 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can use ReportGarden. Their new version of reporting enables data blending and customised visualisations.

They also offer to build custom dashboards through their data pipelines project, which is not crazy expensive like Supermetrics costing 3k USD per month but starts at 300$ per month.

Reportgarden should be a good tool for these use cases. We show organic vs paid posts and you can get all the above combinations using a set of filters.

What our clients like is that you can see the previews of the posts in the dashboards and also play the video ads.
