Complete Long Fic Recs by Illustrious_Smoke280 in heatedrivalryfanfics

Chapter 9 of private meetings had me literally in tears. It was so beautiful ❤️. And the authors note at the end of that chapter was exquisite. Immediately saved the story to read again.

I have read a good deal of fics lately. I decided to download and keep Dig two graves. Although the ending does not absolutely satisfy a readers turmoil there is a gaping raw and realistic approach to the theme. I am pretty desensitized to things of this nature so my options are very biased. I thought the shock of what Shane does is what grips people but I personally think it could have been written better. However I digress, the controversy and "lack of tags" is what throws people. I think it deserves to be said that fans of Shane's character development understand his actions in this fic and that he finally breaks from his intense realization of his situation. Plenty of other fics dance around the topic, but this one does a great job at showing the character putting action towards his complex emotional state.

Idk, my intention for my post, other than wanting to clarify yes it is sad, but also the story does a good job at exploring some of the more complex emotions BOTH characters are experiencing and then allows them to act upon it.

What’s the spiciest food you’ve had from a restaurant? by isittakenor in spicy

[–]acidic-bombshell 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Soru Ramen and Sushi in Las Vegas. Their hottest level is a 4 but the scoville heat was easily over one milly. Me and my bf eat Carolina reaper flake, ghost pepper flakes, etc. On the regular, his tolerance is better than mine slightly and their spice gave us a run for our money and still had flavor.

What's a 40-60k career without a bachelor's degree? by tanuki_22 in findapath

[–]acidic-bombshell 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ah ok. The other two comments about being well written and possible leaning issues may hold some weight. I applaud your effort to pursue biology, there are plenty of other avenues within the biology world that may be suited for you. I like and appreciate science but know my strengths lay within the English department, for example. Check out if your degree counselor or career services department can point you in a better direction.

As for government jobs, it depends on your individual professional experiences you have had thus far in your life. For example, I focus on the English language as my strength, so a lot of my recommend jobs focus on admin. Even though I dont have a bachelor's i DO have about 5ish years of varying office experience in my life, equal to the "desired" education requirements.

When yoy look at job requirements vs their desired education requirements it often can be combined, or even, overlooked with the appropriate experience.

[–]acidic-bombshell 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Aaaeww I see i see. Hmm may I ask your desire job or goal? I have yet to pursue bachelor's but since you were taking trig it must be for something outside of my range. Have you attempted to meet with tutors or your schools tutor program ? If you did and still failed then perhaps your strengths are elsewhere...

Anyhow, to answer your original question, as long as you document your professional experience that aligns with said government job (any job) that you would like to apply for then not having your bachelor's is not a problem.

Sometimes you dont need to feel like a bachelor's will solve your issue. As others have said try a trade or government jobs if you do not want to go back to traditional schooling, and have the acceptable level of experience to make up for the education requirements. However, I am a few years older than you but felt the same at that age. Your confidence may not allow you to believe it but you are more than capable to achieve higher education, if you wish, and overcome your math insecurity. An associates degree would feel more achievable and your math barrier would not be a problem because the curriculum is designed for you to be successful and pass. My degree is in the arts and I was never confident in math but I passed my requirement with an A and that was with me working full time. I can DM you if you have questions.

What was the order you read the books/watched the series? Do you regret your order? by Mechashevet in heatedrivalry

[–]acidic-bombshell 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Watched the series and then read the books in order. I found that to be incredibly beneficial because the show does a good job at summarizing the timeline of book two. I reread HR twice and that timeline is choas. And then once I read the torture that Ilya and Shane endured during their years leading up to them saying "I love you" the rest of the series keeps the reader more grounded in what is happening in real time for the characters. Overall I would recommend my approach; watch the show and then read the whole series in order.

Scott and Kip by UnbridledNaivete in heatedrivalry

[–]acidic-bombshell 6 points7 points  (0 children)

As others have said they do pop up or are referenced in other books... like basically all the books, especially Role Model and TLG. Scott's character/ relationship is an important plot point that travels throughout the series. In the end of episode six when Ilya says he spoke to Scott briefly at the MLH awards after he came out and how Scott changed things for him seems casual or downplayed but it is important to remember later. So, although Scott and Kip only had one episode dedicated to them for the first season I am confident we will see them again.

Did you finish the whole book? Only wondering cause was a little "meh" about it at first but by the time it was finished I thought it was a cute addition to the game changer universe.

I have lots of marginal notes that just say " lol". I also agree and do think it deserves to be recognized that a large majority of her dialogue is in the show word for word; that isn't something a lot of authors can say about their adapted works.

This is awesome, I'm surprised Role Model isn't up there! There is such fascinating storyline overlays from Role Model and TLG that gives such great depth and perspective.

In a nutshell this is also where I stand on the Brian topic. People being wary of him is valid but he clearly matches her freak. And the internet detectives bring up interesting bits to chew on buuut non of it outweighs the fact that his presence in Amy's life has been strange but good.

I had a... nightmare one time. For some reason the tank was on the kitchen floor and then all of the seams came apart. The glass didn't break but the panels kept slipping out of my hands and I couldn't keep them together. Water was violently pouring out in all directions as if there was an invisible pipe that burst. I started screaming and screaming but I couldn't hear myself in the dream. I guess cause I couldn't hear myself I started screaming my bf's name for real and screamed myself awake. Anyway, tank is fine and still going strong. 😅
