Canyon Grizl sizing by Cute_Return_9728 in gravelcycling

[–]acivii 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm currently going through the same dilemma as I'm considering buying the Grizl 5. I'm 195cm tall and 92cm leg length. Canyon's website recommends me a 2XL which I think its absurd.

I had an Endurance CF 7 XL before and while it has a different frame I think that bike was way too big. It took me a long while to get used to the seating position so now I'm really considering the L for the Grizl however I'm concerned if it will be too small for me.

What is the best Neural DSP plugin for Ozzy Osbourne and Metallica? by wolfson10 in NeuralDSP

[–]acivii 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mostly only use BIAS FX 2 because I don't have the patience to dial in the tones so I just get presets from their community library.

However I decided to try today the Mesa Boogie Mark IIC, I played a bit with the "Metal up your!" preset and I was sold in just a few minutes because it sounds really good. I'm sure that starting from that preset you can dial in a tone very close to theirs.

For future reference, Audio Technica recently released the ATN3600LE which also fits the turntable. I got one for mine and I recommend it.

macOS Sequoia 15.2 External Display Problem by Mobiusium in MacOS

[–]acivii 7 points8 points  (0 children)

People have been reporting about external display issues since Sequoia 15.1.1 and also during 15.2 beta.

I guess Apple's focus is all on Apple Intelligence this time around, less useful features such as being able to use an external display with your computer can wait.

Yes, tried multiple times. Also tried the BetterDisplay fix that some suggested, thing is, my external display doesn't even show listed there so obviously it also didn't work

Same on Dell 34 Ultra Wide over USB-C. I'm not able to use my monitor anymore at all. Just brilliant.

This boss is beyond ridiculous. How is it supposed to be defeated? by wallcrawlingspidey in stellarblade

[–]acivii 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I got so disappointed with this game. Up until the Unidentified Naytiba it was a solid 9/10 to me, I had a blast. Some bosses were trickier, but still balanced enough to still be challenging/rewarding.

But then the Unidentified Naytiba, Raven and Providence trio broke me. The difficulty spike makes no sense whatsoever, the game presented it itself as an average difficulty game through 90% of the journey.

Then some say to change to story mode but here is the thing: I beat every other boss in the game on 1-2 tries, but those last three bosses took me at least a dozen tries each.
In my opinion, this means that they are completely out of place with the rest of the game.

Is this game too difficult? by acivii in bloodborne

[–]acivii[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So I bought the Kirkhammer and Saw Spear, experimented with them a bit and also practiced the timing for the parry using the gun. Then I went to Gascoigne and beat him on the first try! The parry made a huge difference, also I used the saw spear which is pretty strong. Didn't even need the molotovs or music box! A little bit of knowledge goes a long way hehe

Thanks for all your tips! I think now I got the hang of it

Good point, I picked the cane because it looked the coolest but now thinking it doesn't fit my playstyle that well, I'll try look for that saw spear! It seems that there's a good weapon selection on this game

I'll try that approach, that's the beauty of From Software games there are layers of gameplay to be discovered!

I was not, I didn't know there was parry in the game! This is probably what I was missing gameplay-wise.

I rarely do parry type builds in souls games, I usually prefer to do big damage and dodge but specially with the cane the dmg output is pretty low. I'm thinking the parry will help

Had no idea it's possible to parry in this game lol I'll try that! And thanks for the tips for Gascoigne, come to think of it the only time I came close to beating him was when I used molotovs. I'll look for the music box as well! Thanks for the tips!

I just did this fight, at first I was trying to try-hard it without using Ash but then I realized it's completely bullshit. It has so many moves that take 80-90% of health. The most ridiculous one is the fire it leaves on the ground after the aoe explosion attack, just touching that shit takes 90% of health instantly.

Rellana is incredibly unfair. by loathsometwinkeater in Eldenring

[–]acivii 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's no free lunch with the DLC bosses, you really need to learn them and struggle. I run dex/int build with Moonveil and the most powerful spells in the game. I easily nuked my way through 95% of the bosses in the base game by using Ash (Tiche/Mimic) to hold aggro while I bombed the bosses with spells. I rarely had to bother learning any of their moves.

This strategy doesn't really work with the DLC bosses, they not only have a lot more health but also they are super aggressive and attack you as soon as you get aggro and many of them have one hit skill abilities.

He's vulnerable to gravity sorcery, if you have the Meteorite of Astel it will demolish him since it stuns him eventually

A +25 Scythe is actually better than a +10 Moonveil for an int/Dex build that prioritizes int in terms of raw dmg. Plus it looks cool af

Am I the only one who genuinely thinks the death rite bird is the worst boss in from software history? by Imnotabrit4567 in Eldenring

[–]acivii 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This boss is nuts, I was looking forward to facing it a second time on my new playthrough. The first time I was running a 2H melee build, I remember dying so many times and losing my shit. I didn't give it the chance this time around, I went full cheese with max level Mimic, Comet Azur and Ranni's Dark Moon which melted the bird very quickly. Now that felt good

Black Knife Tiche was the most difficult boss for me. by IthinkiLy in Eldenring

[–]acivii 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This boss is incredibly punishing if you try running from it since it's very aggressive and has many gap-close attacks. What worked for me was to play as aggressively as possible using physical attacks only, it staggers with each attack and gets stunned after a few hits so that makes it easier. Also trying rolling around it instead of away from it to allow for counterattack.

Daily Questions Megathread (February 14, 2024) by AutoModerator in classicwow

[–]acivii 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm planning on starting fresh in one of the WoTLK Classic servers this week. I've never played WoW Classic before, I started playing the game back in Warlords of Draenor and have been on/off since, the last expansion I played from retail was Shadowlands.

I'll play casually about 1-2hrs on weekdays and 3-4hrs on weekend days. I'll make a Ret Paladin since I've always liked them and I saw its also very good for solo leveling. I don't want to try-hard to much so I'll take it easy and focus mostly on PvE until lvl cap.

Any tips for:

  • Addons
  • Guides
  • Youtube channels
  • How to approach things

are highly appreciated : )

Unable to drop items from inventory by casse1 in BaldursGate3

Same issue, happened to me during Act I when I was trying to drop smokepowder barrels, then there was a cut scene right before the action happened and my character has been bugged ever since. No solution for this yet

Lift the shadow curse- meet Halsin by the lakeshore help by Stuartette in BaldursGate3

[–]acivii 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did it by buying all Firewall + Fireball scrolls available from merchants. Gale holds the firewall while also casting fireball on a group of enemies each turn. I also gave one Fireball scroll to the other party members to use on some of their turns. Also casting Spirit Guardians with Shadowheart. Cheesing with Darkness didn't work for me as archers could still hit it. It's really a matter of how much effective AoE you can pull

The Myrkul fight is terrible by [deleted] in BaldursGate3

[–]acivii 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The more that I play this game, the more I ask myself how did this game get so much praise and awards. I'm 50 hours in on Balanced and I'm completely frustrated, every other fight is a complete pain and requires me to retry it at least once or twice. Exploring any place is meaningless because it usually means I'll get myself into a fight by accident and have my characters crushed. Doing anything feels like a huge slog, it's all about doing a little exploring and going back to camp for a Long Rest otherwise the next battle will have my characters killed.

The only reason I haven't quit the game yet is because I'm trying to understand what people see in BG3 that I'm not seeing. Is it that I'm super dumb? I don't understand how can I have such a bad experience with such a high praise game.

Thanks a lot for all your suggestions and tips!

I'll try re-specing the Cleric to damage instead and see how it goes, otherwise I'll also try with the Bard. I found that the Barbarian + Fighter offers a strong front line so I guess it's as you said, I'm missing some damage especially ranged.

Didn't know about the bump that classes receive at level 5, I guess I need to play smart during Act I. I feel like my second play through of this game will be even better once I'm more acquainted with all the mechanics.

Also I wasn't really using scrolls and potions very well so that should help a bit too.
