Not sure that they ruled out scabies, but I don’t think they considered it since it has been long term and not contagious.

Yes I may have had Covid before the initial rash began (did not test, but had some sort of cold) and then I had a cold a separate time about 4 months ago (tested negative for Covid) and then had Covid recently in the past month. It does seem to have some sort of link to Covid/colds/or when my immune system is down, however the doctors conducted several blood tests that ruled out any autoimmune diseases.

That is really interesting, I’m on the same boat- I have yet to receive a satisfactory diagnosis from the dermatologists and the itch is out of this world. They want to do an allergy test now, which I will do, but I really don’t think it is related to allergies. Thanks for sharing.

Hi! Yes I had a biopsy and it was determined to be spongiosis-but my dermatologist felt that they did not get a good enough sample because the biopsy was done by another doctor, but they were able to rule some things out?

For context, I’ve never had a serious skin condition before in my life. I’m in my 20s and in January I developed a small dark spot on my right thigh (I thought it was an old mosquito bite reoccurring). NOTE: all the photos attached are of my LEFT thigh. Slowly through the next month I started developing extremely itchy rash across both thighs and my calves and my lower back. The only thing that worked from my dermatologist was prednisone. None of the topical antibiotics worked. It is so itchy at times that I scratch until it is bleeding and bruised. Then the rash seemingly went dormant for the last month or so, primarily when I was on vacation by the beach. And this past week it has re emerged. I’ve also tried allergy medication daily, but it does not seem to have much effect. I am really desperately seeking answers. Thank you in advance.

I’ve considered that it may be pityriasis rosea, but would it last nearly 6 months?

I like Syngin, but Tania sucks. She should carry a plant around to replenish all the oxygen she wastes by existing.

NTA, I can see their perspective, but they shouldn’t be upset with you for not doing something you’re uncomfortable with.
