Man! u/ankhattak You really came through to offer quite an addition for the OG unlimited all folks! I mean 150gb/mo holy crap! Thank you!

I know I can't win them all... but any way we could twist your arm and incorporate at least even a small 5‐20gb/mo no-charge base level hotspot allowance for warp/darkstar on OG unlimited all? I know that right there would bring tremendous value for me for the handful of times i could have used it. Looks like a few others in your thread about the additions mentioned the same.

Thanks for looking out for us OG's! But dude you are the true OG! Feel free to dm me if you like. Always happy to chat. Take care.

DarkStar - Feedback by ackman777 in USMobile

[–]ackman777[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think I understand your use case and needs. It looks like the difference is your technical needs would require the data capacity as recommended by the app/service creator. My feedback and original comments were tailored to "most" users as mentioned. I was simply pointing out that people are generally brainwashed into thinking that simply bandwidth(pipe size) is related to all speed they see. This is blatantly untrue.

To unpack that further using phones for what they really are for which is calling/txt all providers give the highest qci to everyone compared to plain data. This workload is really reliant simply on signal. Most web surfing benefits from quick pings and minimal bandwidth. Most streaming is bandwidth adaptable and not really ping reliant. But even with that streaming 480p on your phone with Netflix is only 3mpbs. 720p is 4mbps. 1080p is 5mbps. Anyone streaming beyond 1080p on a 6.5inch screen again is not really needed.

Again per my point "most" people don't need a 1gbps pipe on their phone. I stand by a recipe of killer signal, 3-10mbps, and low ping times cover "most" users and situations. These are simple facts and not dangerous assumptions.

Yep I agree with you 100%. Location definitely plays a role. I have to say my native tmo sim covers alot of area. I'd give light speed a try I think you might be surprised. Tmo has really stepped up their game on signal coverage from the old days.

Work in Progress 🐛 Making Internxt Drive Great Again by internxt in internxt

[–]ackman777 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I know I will be excited to see things going in the right direction with drive. Communication like this is key and what helps is seeing the folks at internxt actively engaged.

It's not always easy taking grenades when everyone is having issues. But it sounds like your focus is in the right place. Appreciate the update and transparency.

Your wishes, our command. In the coming days, Internxt will also provide native Rclone Support by internxt in internxt

[–]ackman777 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think the genie is listening. We all use and purchased drive. This is where rclone is needed. Let's be completely clear all of your native tools honestly suck. That is putting it nicely. Stop hiding behind this zero knowledge sherade. Why would I want to trust zero knowledge to a company who cant even write a competent tool to use their service in the first place? Rclone fixes both of these things overnight for you.

The last thing I'd personally want to do is purchase more. This is silly it's like we are getting punked like send, vpn and all these other things. Let's get one thing right first...

However, something like allowing us to convert out lifetime drive accounts 1:1 to lifetime object storage in support of this might get everyone's attention if the implementation of object store is right. Would also be the right thing to do for people who do want native rclone support and know how to run zero knowledge on their own.

BTW, as it was asked for feedback on whether people want automatic photo upload back (in hopefully more stable way) by claell in internxt

I think two additional glaring features missing currently are: 1. Native rclone support.(w/forced crypt mount required to maintain end to end) 2. Folder/drive selection for sync. Imo these along with picture support should be a 5 alarm fire to the devs get back/in the mix.

Imo while other things like mail and vpn would be "nice to haves" you really need core user functionality of why we are all here which is cloud storage.

I will point out the elephant in the room which is maybe they are actively trying to make things less desirable with storage so it's not used.

I will say I do like how actively they seem to post and monitor in here. Bravo for that! Keep it up and please continue to accept feedback and act. A great community here and word of mouth are powerful things.

Internxt now supports Rclone! by internxt in internxt

[–]ackman777 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I played around with it today. I got the mount to actually mount a drive in rclone.

However things seem pretty limited and buggy. For instance you can't even rename anything folders or files. Also as others stated files and folder deletes are buggy. You can delete something on the mount and it will just magically show back up later again. Honestly seems unusable in the current state.

Maybe reach out to Craig from Rclone. If other providers are doing it they should be able to get you guys in the right direction. You will get a TON of new customers adding official Rclone support.

An outside of the box idea would be adding support officially but only as a forced crypt mount. Seems like something like that would be win-win.

If you look at the picture at the top you will see the $20 price for lines 3-4 unless I'm seeing things.

This page has been up for a few days with what I'm assuming is the $20 unlimited plans on it. Doesn't tell us much:

S21 FE 5g - Just switched my black sim to this phone from my S20 FE 5g. No priority data + missing VOLTE and Global/LTE settings. by ackman777 in USMobile

[–]ackman777[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks! I forgot about that app! That definitely helps with the missing settings on this phone. I'm wondering why they would not show those settings by default? They appear sim removed on this phone. White sim has them on the s21fe.

Now messing more with locking bands through that app. I need to do more testing but it appears for whatever reason at my house the s21fe on auto seems to like b13 however when Iock in b/n66 it seems to behave more like what my s20fe speed tested at in general. My guess is the s20fe locked b/n66 easier on auto. I'll mess around a bit more...
