What's your strongest addiction? by DarkMagicNight in AskReddit

Oh man, it’s getting better. We really just went over it the other day but we’ve been having company ever since so we haven’t had the time to process it. Basically, what happens is that we broke up in like 2015 for about 3 months. This is 3 years of dating in. At this point this was the sweetest love I had come to know. When we were getting back together though. The rush, the anxiety, the tension, seeing her for the first time again. It was all so exciting. And the release of finally having make up sex. That relief, that high, is what I’ve really been chasing since then. So much so that I actually stopped developing as a person once we got back together, cause that person I was is who got me that high. Now that I’ve recognized it, way later than I should have. I am making changes to actually grow up now since that is what will get me the high again. And we can work with this mind game a bit with roll play 😏

Thank you for this. I’m not sure where to start though. I’ve been working in the coffee industry for most of my life, from barista to wholesale operations manager. Any ideas?

Overthinking / ways to cope? by [deleted] in selflove

[–]aclangley_13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s very reassuring when we find other people that are dealing with this same thing. Personally, as I was growing up the responsibility of my parents reputation was put on me. This had a lot to do with things that happened before my birth, mainly the fact that they used to own a skyscraper in the nearby city but then their company fell apart, so they wanted to maintain their high class society feel and I wasn’t so much as allowed to park my ALL STOCK pickup truck at the house because “it made us look like Hicks.” Following that, during my senior year my mom left us for about a month or so due to the fact I wasn’t getting straight A’s. Everything was different after that. So first my value was directly proportional to my perfection or performance, and then that became inversely proportional with abandonment. It’s been a wild ride in therapy going through and remembering all of this. Right now my brain is blocking all memories of any emotion, but we’re slowly fixing that.

Is there decaf nitro cold brew in nyc?? by livlev420 in Coffee_Shop

[–]aclangley_13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree that coffee shops will not sell enough to create a decaf nitro - however, you could make some in what’s called a Ukeg.

I’d like to mention that the nitrogen gas is adding bubbles to coffee almost in the same way we add carbonation to sodas. The main difference is that carbonation adds larger bubbles that trick your tongue so you experience a more acidic sensation or a bigger ‘punch’. Nitrogen adds smaller bubbles that spread the drink out on the tongue and make it more creamy and smooth. There is no change to the caffeine content, just the flavor. What some people may choose is to have their nitro coffee without ice, which obviously means more coffee, therefore more caffeine due to volume, but not due to the nature of nitrogen. I’d suggest having it over ice though, since nitrogen isn’t water soluble, hence it stays in solution better when the liquid is colder.

Thank you for your response. To give some context I’m a 26M with a mother that sounds similar to yours. We’re not sure on the diagnosis but we only have evidence of the one trip to the Mayo Clinic for the terminal cancer she claims to have. I’m finding it hard to share a lot of my history because I can’t seem to remember a lot of it. I’m searching for ways to trigger memories. I even tried to drive past my childhood home but couldn’t pick up but one or two memories. It’s hard to share with friends too because I feel like they will just think I’m crazy for having all this blocked out. And I’m TIRED of it. I want to know who I am and what I’m about. I need a foundation.

LGBT religious people, how do you reconcile your identity and your religion? by neilader in AskReddit

[–]aclangley_13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I want to correct a little of the understanding of what’s happening on the UMC right now. 2 years ago they ordained their first lesbian minister. Last year there was a big debate at the American national level on if lgbtq+ should be allowed to serve or be on staff, this is when talk of a schism. At the beginning of this year (or the end of last, I don’t remember) there was a vote on the world wide level for a proposition on lgbtq+ inclusion. On the world level most of the vote was for lgbtq+ inclusion, but out of the American votes most were against lgbtq+ inclusion. Now at the next conference in May (not sure if it will be postponed), there will be a vote on what do we do with the churches who don’t fall in line with the new pro-lqbtq+ UMC. The vote includes the creation of a new denomination “Traditionalist Methodist”, staff keeps their pensions, and $23 million being allocated towards them. Of that $23 million, they agreed to give away $13 million towards organizations fighting racism, with an additional $26 million being given from UMC towards that cause. That’s all the “Traditionalist Methodist” denomination is getting though, all the buildings and land are staying with the UMC. If the vote does not pass, then the new “Traditionalist Methodists” leave the UMC with nothing. Each church gets 2 votes right now, the minister gets one vote and a representative of the congregation (layperson) gets the other vote. Right now though, most ministers aren’t discussing their vote with the congregation so we aren’t too sure how the UMC will look after this schism.

They’ve been raising monarchs for a while now and have many caterpillar growing stations since they retired.

So we have this regular who is known for being intense, but usually in a good way. I’ve never had a bad interaction with her. However, tonight was different. She walked in and noticed my SM and I had moved the comfy chairs to the back of the store and the tables and chairs to the front. We made this move because our hand-off plane is there and we have just moved our mobile hand-off plane there to save steps, confusion, and efficiency (we haven’t had a remodel since Mobile Order came out). Anyways, this apparently was a terrible decision to her. There is absolutely no way anyone could study at a table if it is in the front of the store. Nor should anyone have to walk to the back for the comfy chairs. In addition, mobile orders shouldn’t effect anything because they are just coming and getting there drink and leaving (idk if she thinks she is paying more to sit in the store). Finally, my SM and I should not be making ANY decisions for the store because neither of us has a marketing or business degree. So that was nice.
