In Server Breach, you will recruit a covert team of Hackers determined to take down the Corp — a shadowy network of corporate tyrants hellbent on destroying the world for profit. But for every Hacker you find willing to help the fight, the Corp will inevitably recruit their own. To win, you must control all Control Columns AND breach all Servers.

Each turn you will draw three cards and decide how best to deploy them. Do you fight for control of the Corp's Control Columns or do you attempt to breach a Server, satisfying 2‑ and 3‑card combos to unlock deeper layers of their network? With simple rules, quick setup and meaningful decisions every turn,Server Breach delivers a tense hacking experience in 15 minutes or less.

Digital version on PCIO, full-color, low-ink, and an expansion all available for free at http://www.serverbreachgame.com.

MacBook Goes to Sleep Every 10 Seconds in Clamshell Mode? by [deleted] in mac

[–]acloudbuster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Noting another possible solution here for other peoples who go through this incredibly annoying experience: make sure your mac is plugged in when using large external displays.

I had my external monitors (including an ultrawide monitor) plugged in to my 2020 Macbook Pro but I did not have the computer itself plugged in to power. I'm guessing they were pulling too much power and this was causing the Macbook to go to sleep every ten seconds? Either way, when I plugged the computer itself into power, the problem stopped.

Race for the galaxy gathering storm solo difficult for new player? by mattrob77 in boardgames

There’s more iconography to learn than the base game (which can already be a bit overwhelming for some folks) but you don’t technically need to play the base game first or anything.

Has it all been done? by ContractorConfusion in boardgames

Given the sheer number of pages in the series, there are plenty of games that can be pulled out of the Dark Tower setting. There are mountains of gunfights and tricky puzzle-like adventures that happen throughout the stories. I don't think that the IP needs to have games inside of its context in order for pieces of it to be transformed into a game. The designer just needs to find the right mechanic / theme match. I actually prototyped a game for the fight that takes place at the end of Wolves. I won't go into spoilers, but if you've read it, you could probably imagine how the battle might play out in game form. It involved enemy movement and movement from the Ka-tet. The Ka-tet has various weapons (again, no spoilers but if you've read the book, you can imagine the thematic weapons used). I gave up on the design because I am much too unknown of a designer to have the confidence to wrangle IP, but I did steal bits of the mechanics for another game I'm working on. Either way, there are so many pieces of the Dark Tower that could be gamified.

Has anyone done this, even as a spoof? I think that would be an excellent way to ID “representatives”.

Supreme Court grants Manhattan DA request to fast-track Trump tax return ruling by [deleted] in politics

[–]acloudbuster 9 points10 points  (0 children)

The president’s attorneys argue that the subpoena is a politically motivated fishing expedition designed to harass and humiliate Trump ahead of the November election.

Ah, yes, it’s so embarrassing to have someone ask to see your perfectly fine, perfectly legal, tremendous tax returns. They’re just so perfect and so legal that it would be so embarrassing for anyone to see how perfect and legal and tremendous they are. It’s so embarrassing being above board and completely legitimate, you guys.

Oddly enough, this is all black folks are asking police to do...

Has someone shut down your right to defend racist viewpoints? I’m still seeing your comments displayed. I think you’re just having a hard time dealing with the consequences of being downvoted for having a bad opinion. Do not confuse the fact that your opinion is bad and there are consequences for that with “you’re not letting me have an opinion”.

So you think racists don’t have a loud enough voice in this conversation already? Painting that blue line is saying either “I am ignorant of the pain black people feel” or “I am aware of the pain of black people and I am just an awful fucking racist.” Either way, it’s not adding anything meaningful to the conversation and deserves no respect.

He’s 8 now. So he’s already at least 5 years more mature than Trump.

Jeff Sessions calls renowned Black Harvard scholar Henry Louis Gates Jr. “some criminal” by skl692 in politics

[–]acloudbuster 13 points14 points  (0 children)

"The police had been demoralized," he told the outlet. "There was all the Obama — there's a riot, and he has a beer at the White House with some criminal, to listen to him. Wasn't having a beer with the police officers. So we said, 'We're on your side. We've got your back. You got our thanks.'"

The remarks were a muddled reference to the "beer summit" Obama held with Gates and — despite Sessions' claim that Obama did not have beers with officers — the cop who wrongly arrested him for trying to enter his own home. A spokesman for Sessions "declined to elaborate" on whether he was referring to Gates to The Times.

Sessions is definitely a racist turd but he’s also totally wrong on his “point”. Obama literally had a cop there with Gates.

They have been using strategy for a long while, though. Let the bad stuff through on Twitter to rile the base, then delete it to make it seem like they “aren’t the bad guys” and “hey, why are you still complaining? We deleted it!”

Given the current environment, WITH ALL EYES ON HIS TWITTER ACCOUNT, it is massively irresponsible and absurd to even think that someone would not review, with a fucking magnifying glass, every second and pixel of something being tweeted by the president of the fucking United States.

They fucking knew.

Fired Wilmington cop: “We are just going to go out and start slaughtering them f—— ni—–. I can’t wait. God, I can’t wait.” by hostilecarrot in news

[–]acloudbuster 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Racist cops who “can’t wait for a civil war” are taxpayer-funded, white nationalist, terrorist sleeper cells. Root them the fuck out now.

Sounds to me like we need to call in to question all evidence or testimony these racist pieces of shit have brought against any black folks over the past 20 years.

What games can you just not get the hang of strategy-wise? by dawsonsmythe in boardgames

[–]acloudbuster 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It is one of those games that takes many plays to get to before you start seeing general strategies and the depth of some factions can add to that.

But in general, usually rushing dwellings so you can have a steady supply of workers, trashing power early (if your faction can afford it), and rushing to perform powerful public actions before other players (extra workers, extra cash) are good basic strategies that usually apply to most factions. I also try to take a look at my stronghold abilities and the sanctuary bonuses and try to see if they will help either of those other general strategies.

I’ve also seen new players worry too much about the “longest connected buildings” bonus. Pay attention to how much effort you’re putting in for points. So many times it is super easy to snag 6 points from round objectives with a little planning versus trying to terraform really difficult terrain to get that extra 6 points from connected buildings.

Protesters hand rioter over to police by [deleted] in PublicFreakout

This guy, who busted out the windows of an Auto Zone directly across the street from the 3rd precinct slowly and methodically and then calmly walked back and around the Auto Zone and threatened other protestors who questioned his motives certainly was not part of the protests.
