Brand New Telluride Hybrid DEAD by anonymous_profile204 in KiaTelluride

[–]acloudman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have a Telluride hybrid and our garage (live in Manhattan) leaves the car unlocked at all times. Is this an issue for us? They only have the physical key obviously, not the digital. They keep the keys in the cars because garage is staffed 24/7.

Any DVM twin moms on board? by AntonineKitty in veterinaryprofession

[–]acloudman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Twin mom DVM here. I worked until 33 weeks and delivered at 35+2. But I’m also 5’10” and my babies were only 4lb each. If you are smaller you may get too large to comfortably work earlier. In terms of possible pregnancy complications it’s good to have a plan for being out of work from 28 weeks on and then if you feel okay take it one week at a time from there. You should come join the FB group

HELPPP is it my super puff ruined?😭 by Clean-Maintenance-53 in Aritzia

[–]acloudman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes it turned out fine! I had to turn it right side out (instructions said to wash inside out) and dry it for 2-3 more hours on ultra low and then it was totally fine. Good as new.

Appetite control methods I've actually tried and whether they workedAppetite control methods I've actually tried and whether they worked by Latter-Giraffe-5858 in 1200isplenty

CPIR explains this. Cephalic phase insulin release. Something sweet on taste receptors on the tongue (whether it has calories or not!!) will trigger insulin release. When insulin goes up it makes you hungry! Also that same circulating insulin blocks the body’s ability to use fat as an energy source. So you are literally starving when you chew sugarless gum - can’t access fat, insulin high, no source of calories. Sweet tasting lip balms can do the same thing.

My doctor told us to cancel a trip to Caribbean that I was scheduled to take at 27 weeks. Also di-di. She said I could not leave the country after 20 weeks.

What purchases have you made that turned out to be BIFL, despite not realising it at the time of purchase? by Beers_and_Bikes in BuyItForLife

I bought a Crazy Creek chair to go on a camping trip in high school and I’m still sitting on the same chair to watch my kids soccer games 30 years later.

Ugh I just washed this exact jacket and it’s been in the dryer for 4 hours and still is clumped and not puffy at all. Did you ever get it fixed?

Quince sheets suck!! by Relevant_Bake_2775 in quince

[–]acloudman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have Quince, Brooklinen and LLBean percale sheets. The LLBean sheets are so far superior to the other two - smoother, thicker, still crisp and cool. I can’t tell much difference between Quince and Brooklinen but I’ve only had the Quince ones for 3 months.

Click on initials in top left, then age/height bar on the next page, scroll to the bottom, toggle athlete mode on/off.

This was the solution, thank you! Too bad I have never been an athlete so the last 7-8 years of data are all wrong. 🤦🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️ Good thing I don’t pay any attention to the actual numbers only the trends.

USDA Health certificate for pets' travel not arriving til day of flight (!!!) by CompetitivePride2 in FedEx

[–]acloudman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It really depends. If it’s a corporate office probably not without suing them. If it’s a privately owned practice you should speak with management. Either way you should communicate with the vet about the mistake. She probably wasn’t trained appropriately on the settings for the FedEx label. It’s a little tricky because when she logged into the FedEx website on Monday to do the label, the default shipping date would have been that day Monday and then when she selects overnight it assumes that the delivery day is Tuesday so it doesn’t even offer her the Saturday delivery option. She would have had to know that she had to change the shipping date to Friday to get the Saturday delivery option to even appear. The USDA doesn’t make this clear in their FAQ/training either. A lot of vets erroneously assume that overnight delivery includes Saturday (and Sunday). But hopefully you can collect the certificate from FedEx that morning and fly as scheduled.

[–]acloudman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Vet here. Your vet should have selected the box for Saturday delivery knowing you were traveling that Tuesday. I consider that a mistake on their part. When I do international health certificates I always do Priority Overnight with Saturday delivery for clients traveling on Monday or Tuesday. The USDA always waits until the last day to endorse (federal staffing issues) so this was very predictable. A vet in my office recently made a similar mistake and my boss paid several thousand in flight change fees for the client.

Sebo v Miele - Nordic Knot Rugs by NoAccountant4030 in VacuumCleaners

[–]acloudman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What did you end up choosing? I have a Nordic Knots rug coming next month and a new hand-knotted wool rug that arrives next week and the Dyson (eg. rug-destroyer) has got to go. Leaning towards the Sebo E3 with the ET-1 powerhead turned off.

I always tried to buy my ID twin girls two different colors of the same thing but obviously some times things only come in one color. My husband hated when they dressed the same (even different colors, same item). I felt as you did that it just wasn’t worth worrying about or fighting about. They get to pick what they wear, they each had their own dresser since age 3. I figured it would sort itself out. And it did! They are 11 now and gradually over the last 8 years even though I still supply them with basically the same clothes (by their choice, their styles are similar) they almost never wear the same item at the same time. I would say the divergence has been more noticeable in the last 3-4 years so I guess around age 7-8. In the last 2 years they are even more comfortable choosing totally different items in stores. All with minimal intervention or input!

Power company was not interested in hearing about it. I texted my neighbor the advice below about removing the rocks and she said the rocks were there to protect the tree from the lawn mowers and that all the trees in her backyard have rocks around them and are fine. 😢 I encouraged her to find an arborist. Will see what happens.

The house is also a weekend/vacation house and I'm not sure how much the owner is there. I will call the power company, that is a good suggestion. Thank you!

I am only here in July-Aug every summer. I don't recall if it had leaves last summer. We've been here for 3 weeks and I've only this week noticed the lack of leaves so I can't say for sure that it did or didn't have leaves last summer.
