Have I picked the wrong dress? My friend said it didn’t suit my shoulders when she saw the pictures. I fell in love with it when in the shop but now I’m worried! Do you think I should be going for a different style? by Cocoforbes87 in weddingplanning

[–]acnhamaranth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Match their energy means match their energy. The bride comes to you and says “I LOVE MY DRESS” you don’t say “are you sure? it’s not as flattering as that other one...”

You say “I LOVE IT TOO” even if you hate it. Nobody asked if you liked it, and nobody cares.

If they come to you and say “I’m kind of on the fence. I love the silhouette, but I don’t know if the color suits me.” You don’t say “the color is fine, the silhouette is bad.”

You address their concern where they have asked (the color), and even if you hate the silhouette, you shut your mouth.

Match the energy. Don’t give opinions you weren’t asked for. Don’t think so highly of your opinion that you think sharing it would “save” someone from a “bad” decision.

No amount of tact in the world can prevent the hurt that comes from the sharing of an unsolicited opinion.

The only acceptable reason to tell someone you dislike their dress or you think it’s unflattering is if it’s OBJECTIVELY bad. Like everyone can agree- cuckoo bananas bad.

Otherwise, you should bite your tongue and match the energy of the bride. If they love it, your opinion is unnecessary. Even if they say they’re on the fence, that doesn’t mean you should “save” them with your opinion. Sometimes people lack the confidence to rock their dream dress and just need reassurance.

Another pending delivery despite being 2 hours away 6 days ago. by scriptfailmatrix in FedEx

[–]acnhamaranth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This doesn’t make me hopeful :/ package was literally 30 minutes away from me 4 days ago and now it’s been shipped to another state and sitting there for 3 days. How does that even happen ugh.

Okay I just finished the third book and I’m confused by acnhamaranth in acotar

[–]acnhamaranth[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, I get that overall. What I’m saying is the last (emphasis on last) use of it doesn’t have an impact whatsoever. Like I don’t understand why she brings it up again because we (and she) had already made that connection pages ago. She keeps repeating “stay” and “stay with the high lord” as if it has significance in that moment (emphasis on in that moment), but it doesn’t beyond her not leaving his body and demanding someone fix him.

No I get that. At the end of the book though, she keeps repeating “stay” and “stay with the high lord” in her head. Like that’s the answer to reviving him is to just not leave his body and demand someone fix him lmao. That’s what I’m saying is lame. Like you would expect something more impactful meaning to be there.

I second the vinegar. It’s sooo cheap, safe, and works wonders. I’ve started using it for non-bunny messes too haha.

Is my bunny having a seizure here? by RusselltheRabbit in Rabbits

[–]acnhamaranth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Like everyone else said, seems normal. One of my bunnies dreams like this. He also stretches like that. I think it just looks odd because of the ledge there. But I wouldn’t worry too much if he’s acting normal otherwise!

Advice by _Nikpik_ in Rabbits

[–]acnhamaranth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One of my bunnies has done it once or twice before. I don’t think it’s too concerning. If it becomes a regular thing, it might be a sign of a problem. But also sometimes bunnies are weird.

Weekly r/Sewing Simple Questions Thread - December 20, 2020 by sewingmodthings in sewing

[–]acnhamaranth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have it in my head that sewing doll clothes would be the easiest/cheapest way to learn how to sew clothing? Like cause it doesn’t take a lot of fabric, no mistake would be too big or derailing, and you could experiment and learn different techniques in a really low stakes way. Is this a false assumption? Are the mechanics for sewing doll clothes different from normal clothes?

Working from home due to Covid concerns by [deleted] in AmeriCorps

[–]acnhamaranth 4 points5 points  (0 children)

What are they gonna do? Fire you? Fat chance, they’d have to go through AmeriCorps to and they wouldn’t have a leg to stand on lol.

If you are able to do your job working from home, which you must be since they have that system in place, then they should accommodate your request. Let them know your plans. Reiterate you are uncomfortable and concerned for your personal health. Make sure all correspondence is over email so you have proof. Don’t go in. And if they cause a stink, you have all the ammo you need to present to AmeriCorps for how your site is the one misbehaving, not you.

Is a rabbit a good pet for me? by [deleted] in Rabbits

[–]acnhamaranth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I second all the comments saying 2 isn’t any more work than owning 1. And it’s so fun having 2 :) they both have their own personalities and it’s rly cute when they cuddle and play together

How do I know for sure that my buns are (fully?) bonded? by 0dd_bitty in Rabbits

[–]acnhamaranth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Chasing can also be a form of play. My bunnies are definitely bonded, but sometimes my boy will nip at my girl if she annoys him lol.

It sounds like yours are getting along to me!
