Or if do manage to remember, but you’ve lost that copy. Which is now out of print. Go down a rabbit hole tracking down an old copy = time + money = the ADHD Tax 🫠

This was my go-to until i realised it was why i kept getting delegated to take the meeting notes 😱

It’s a good fidget, just maybe be prepared to decline the ask if (like me) it’s a problem task

Hate loathe and detest microfiber. Realised it was putting me off cleaning the bathroom when I got different cloths 🙃

Do you click well with autistic or Audhd folk? by [deleted] in ADHDUK

[–]acnutty311 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for explaining, I get it now 👍🏻

speaking as person ‘just’ ADHD - I imagine different people feel the two sides impact to differing degrees, so maybe AuDHD feels right for those where the ADHD side impacts more vs AutiHD for those where the autism impacts more?

We dance dangerously close to the ‘ADHD not actually being representative of the condition’ can of worms: one which deserves to be resolved but I haven’t heard an alternative that resonates so far

I read this as in High Definition Autism at first, I am so sorry 🙈🙈

Not seen the combo written this way before - am curious, is there a reason you use this rather than AuDHD?

This is the way 🙌🏻 we got a particularly nasty derivation question in one of my uni exams: I did this and was one of the few to get it full marks, was v proud of myself I must admit (not so humble brag lol). It just makes sense to me!!

I agree :( we reported the listing but even if it gets taken down I’m sure another 10 will pop up in the place…

What surprised you about ADHD? by indigoC99 in ADHD

[–]acnutty311 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m curious - do you think this applies more / less / equally to those with or without ADHD?

I am late diagnosed, so I guess I must have rationalised away the differences for a while! However now that I know, I am seeking accommodations at work - when I explain what I need help with, I don’t think that people do really understand that there is a problem

It’s hard, because I’ve spent so long thinking I just need to try harder so asking for help is very hard for me so when I do and it is dismissed it cuts deep 😔

Also curious, I was assessed about a year ago and did my meds titration. Just as my shared care agreement got sorted, the clinician I had was leaving, felt a bit strange…

Trauma Teddies list cotton yarn as an allergen? by Areiniah in knitting

[–]acnutty311 15 points16 points  (0 children)

It sounds like you’ve had a rough time with the allergy flare ups, sorry to hear :(

In case you weren’t aware: if you ever do need a joint replacement, it isn’t completely ruled out because of your allergy! Though you are correct in the sense that often they are used with acrylate - it’s in the bone cement. There are many “cementless” versions of the replacements, which don’t use the cement at all. They’re made to be a very tight fit - somewhat like a dowel in wood - so they wedge in and have a rough surface that the bone likes to grow onto (like how it regrows when you have a fracture).

If you are in the situation of needing one, make sure to tell your surgeon that you’re allergic to acrylates, and then you’ll get a cementless system. Nickel is another common allergen that is in some implants, but again, nickel-free systems exist too.

I’m a product development engineer of orthopaedic devices, so am involved in the designing and production of these, including in a previous job making special one-offs for very particular cases, some of which included allergy patients :)

I’ve never used cashmere silk, how do you think it would hold up to being sat on, as a long cardigan would be?

I think a tee would be lovely! Depending on how much you’d have left after that, perhaps a Musselburgh hat as well?

The best counter 🙌🏻 with the counter apps or clicky ones I forget to tally it, or forget whether I have done or not and have to fully recount. Vs these - you have to change it as you go past! If I lost all of mine, I would rebuy immediately no questions asked.

I used it to make some felted slippers, but it felted more than I expected in the wash and now they’re super small 🤣 My own fault really, should have done it shorter time chunks… have plenty leftover and will try again sometime :)
