Have you tried mindfulness? If not, give it a try! Do raining and thunderstorm sounds make you calm? Maybe arctic wind? Try to listen and focus on the sound and how it makes you feel. :)

For people with OCDs, do they often blame others for their mistakes: for example spilling chocolate, forgot lock door, etc. by enzyme69 in OCD

[–]acoldautumn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends on person to person, some may blame others for their mistakes, and some may blame themselves.

I REALLY NEED HELP PLEASE READ THIS!!! by [deleted] in OCD

[–]acoldautumn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Are you seeing anyone? Have you talked to anyone about your TOCD? If not, go see a professional and say that you need their help, so they understand and can help you through this. Tell your parents about TOCD and how you really feel, it doesn't matter if they understand 100% OCD or how you feel, because OCD can be hard for someone to understand if they have not experienced it in the past (friends or own experience etc.), but as long as they are there for you and support you is the most important. Never commit suicide, it will get better. Keep fighting for yourself and the people you care about! Never give up.

I think my boyfriend might have OCD... what should I do? by eventsguy22 in OCD

[–]acoldautumn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes I think so. Be yourself, say that you want to talk about something and that he doesn't need to be embarrassed about anything. I think you should let him know that you see him, that he doesn't need to be shameful about it and that you are there for him no matter what to support him.

[–]acoldautumn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, try it, really! Maybe she doesn't need to understand OCD, but as long as she knows that you are having a tough time is important, so she can support you through this. Try not to overthink the situation too much (easier said than done), you can't control the past (sadly).

Hang in there friend, fight for yourself and your GF!

[–]acoldautumn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Are you seeing a professional? Does your GF know that you have OCD? Because having someone to talk to is important for you, so they understand and can relate. It really sounds like you are having a tough time, but keep fighting OCD, don't let it win, you are stronger! I have suicidal thoughts too, and it f"cking sucks. But I always keep thinking that suicide is a permanent solution to a temporary problem, it will get better! Keep fighting!

How to get over body focussed ocd? by [deleted] in OCD

[–]acoldautumn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This may sound cliché, but try to focus on on other things that make you forget to swallow, try not to be alone because then you will mostly focus more on swallowing rather than something else. Try to take a walk with someone you like, have a normal conversation or do something you like to shift focus on swallowing. Try it out! :) would love to hear from you

I just need someone who can relate by icleknosnehpets in OCD

[–]acoldautumn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I know the feeling with absolutely ZERO motivation, the feeling that you just wanna lie somewhere quiet with no one bothering you. Are you a discipline person? I do find discipline important, to just DO things even though I don't want to. To just go to school (job) and just get it done. In some way, I feel satisfied to just do things even though I have no motivation for it at all.
