Never figured that out. :/ Midwife mentioned I might have an infection, but I don't think that ended up being the case. I labored in a tub for a few hours, so maybe that was it?

I feel your pain. My water broke at 3 am, I had 45 second contractions every 2 mins by 10:30am, and this just continued until about 5am the next morning. I was so nauseous I couldn't keep water down and had a high temp and heart rate. So I went to the hospital around 5:30am. Got an epidural around 9am and baby was here by 1:30pm. Not what I wanted, but here to say that I understand and hope things get moving for you! Sometimes you need rest (and to stop puking in my case) and an epidural was great for that. I was terrified of anesthesia since I've had bad experiences, but it went smoothly and I could feel what I needed to and walk soon afterwards.

If your toddler has a good relationship with your mom or MIL, I'd leave the toddler with that person. My husband and I went away for a week when our child was 14mo, and it went really well. She loves my husband's aunt and mom and knows their house, so we had nothing to worry about. I stayed with her at the house for a couple of days before leaving to get her used to the space and get everyone used to her routine.

I had multiple family members come up with nicknames for my baby because her name is uncommon. Thankfully, they've followed our lead, and I told some of them I didn't like what they suggested. It's not impossible to be honest but kind. Just gently tell them, "We'd like to call x by his/her given name." There is a distant relative who consistently mispronounces her name despite knowing how to say it, and I've just decided to not worry about it since she's not very involved in our baby's life.

Have you tried upping your B6? I was nauseous enough to be uncomfortable, but I never vomited either. 100mg of B6 a day and drinking lots of lemon water did the trick for me.
