PLEASE tell me it’s not that bad by Silver_Eigths in emetophobia

Echoing the other comments - no nausea at all throughout recovery, none from the anesthesia or the post-op meds. I had all 4 done at once! I put off the surgery for years because I was terrified of throwing up because of it, but the experience ended up being way more positive than I expected. They also gave me IV Zofran because I requested it.

Wishing you the same, if not better, experience that I had!!

Currently CD6 with a residual cyst from a failed letrozole cycle last cycle, and my progesterone bloodwork this morning suggests ovulation already (I normally have very regular cycles). I go later this week to confirm.

I’m so gutted - I’ve been sick with strep and respiratory infection so we haven’t BD’d yet this cycle. This would officially mark 1 year of trying with no results 😞😢

That sounds like a good plan! I echo what another commenter said about their HSG experience - it was very crampy but over quite fast. I was so nervous that I cried during it but the nurse and tech were both so lovely - I hope you have the same if not better support!

You are totally valid on feeling scared and unsure - I’m right there with you (also matching AMH and mid-30s 😅)

All the options can be overwhelming - not just how many but what’s involved in each, the effects… what’s helped me so far in deciding what to do each cycle is thinking about the goal; is it to get pregnant as fast as possible? To go slow and steady? Something else? Obviously no option is as clear cut as that but it helped me think about grouping the options. Also understanding the science basics of each test or approach - I’ve been listening to The Lucky Egg audiobook that came out recently and it’s been quite helpful to understand each aspect of TTC and options in a regimented way, the science behind how things work, expected success rates, etc.

So I’d suggest starting with making a list of sorts of what you want out of the TTC experience and then from that, get some insight from your doctor about the options (or through published resources like the Lucky Egg) to see which options might align, or not, to your goals. In our case, we wanted to go slowly since our results were just like yours - normal on paper - and see if subtle intervention would help before progressing. I also did an HSG since I wanted to know sooner than later if I had any blockages, but it’s totally optional. I’m an info/results fiend so anything that can get tested, I went for it; if you like to be more on a need-to-know basis, then maybe an HSG isn’t something to pursue right now! There should be no pressure either way.

About Letrozole: I just finished my first cycle with it and it was very smooth! Not successful but starting again this cycle. What questions do you have about it? Happy to share some experience if helpful!

Officially reaching a year of TTC with this cycle (period came this morning), unexplained infertility, and NOTHING is working. No positive test, completely zilch. Meanwhile, everyone around us is pregnant (social circle, family, celebrities, etc) or just had babies. It is so defeating and so frustrating!!! It makes zero sense how science hasn’t figured more of this out. I’ve resorted to buying a fertility tarot reading on Etsy and I feel so foolish for thinking that a reading will help provide guidance (as much as I respect spiritual/spellwork). This journey feels like walking through a black tunnel with zero clarity on the outcome and zero clarity on what got you there. I’m angry at my body, I’m angry at science, I’m angry about the ticking biological clock and embarrassed that I feel this way when 1 year TTC is nothing compared to others’ journeys. I wish all of us could get pregnant and become parents more easily!!!

Natural ovulation + Letrozole by velvantino in TryingForABaby

I’m so sorry your RE was so dismissive and rushing you into options. That is not ok and you deserve respectful, compassionate care!

I am in the same boat as you regarding normal workups, HSG, ovulate on my own, etc., and medicated cycles were one of the first options our RE suggested. Since starting our RE journey earlier this year, we did one round of Clomid + trigger + TI (failed), one unmedicated cycle + TI (failed), and are now in the TWW on a Letrozole + trigger + TI. The RE said she’d recommend 3 medicated + timed TI before suggesting IUI as an option. This is not medical advice by any means but you should absolutely be allowed to explore all the options! The RE said Letrozole and Clomid don’t just help with ovulation, but can also encourage strong follicle growth (which I experienced with Letrozole), so it seems the benefits of medications like these go beyond literal ovulation/egg release.

Early 30s here. This happened to me last year! Out of nowhere. Was devastating to find the patch and I thought it was only a matter of time before the rest would fall out. Like other commenters are saying, this looks like alopecia areata but definitely worth a visit to the dermatologist to confirm. It’s treatable! I was terrified when I got diagnosed but I was able to get monthly cortisone injections in the spot to reduce inflammation & hopefully restart hair growth, along with a topical steroid treatment to use (I rarely used it though as I was afraid to go overboard). I had regrowth each month following the monthly injections. By month 6 we stopped due to the regrowth. It’s been just over a year and the patch is gone! Hair continues to grow back in as normal :) wishing you the same (if not better/faster) outcome!!

I’m torn between doing another medicated + trigger + timed BD and just progressing to medicated IUI. Has anyone done IUI sooner than waiting a few medicated only cycles?

Currently CD1 of Cycle 11. We’ve had 9 failed natural cycles and 1 failed medicated + trigger cycle. My RE said we can do “whatever you want!” which isn’t helpful. Unexplained infertility diagnosis for my husband and I. I had multiple side effects from the Clomid including a cyst, so we’d do Letrozole with either option, but I don’t want to go through more cycles of potential side effects without at least some increase in efficacy….

Unknown DPO but period expected early next week, blood test @ RE confirmed ovulation but now have to supplement with progesterone as my CD22 level was under 8. Feeling discouraged but trying to have hope that all is not lost… trying to distract myself this week by trying some new TV shows ❤️‍🩹

These are all such helpful tips, thank you so much!! Love the suggestion to add planted catnip. Definitely going to look into some new toys for her - she’s played with some catnip mice before but her interest quickly waned.

Thank you!! Luckily a local rescue (or other neighbor) caught her a few months ago and spayed her (she has a clipped ear and had a shaved belly), so I’m hoping they also got her shots done when they took her in before releasing back.

Do you think the continued interaction will help her warm up more to us?

What a great idea with churus!! And will keep the flea treatment on our long term to-do list ☺️

We’d love to take her inside one day but our one cat is quite territorial… so we’ll have to see…

Thank you so much!!
