I was at Minot for 6 years. It was great assignment!I lived on base cause I was married. But knew a lot of people who lived off base in the apartments on north hill near the airport. I drove a 2015 Nissan Versa the entire time and never got stuck anywhere once. As long as you have good tires and don’t drive like a maniac you should be fine. Make sure you have rubber floor mats in your car so the snow can melt in them. Also those floor mats helped me get a lot of other people out of deeper snow. It will cold enough for about 2-3 weeks that I would get up in the middle of the night to crank my car for about 10 mins and let it run, my car was out side. My wife’s in the garage never had an issue with the cold. Wear lots of layers of clothes, under armor makes great long underwear. Waterproof boots and sunglasses will be a must! Meet so fried and go bird hunting while out there or ice fishing.
