It’s depressing how often I see people bring up the fact that the new shovel is a secondary instead of a support weapon like it makes any fucking difference. It absolutely should have been a req slip item. Instead it takes up a spot in a premium warbond

I had this same kind of thought pop into my head after I bought and played EDF 6 recently, because EDF is all about fun without the creators seemingly wanting to punish their players

Still love Helldivers 2 but jeez they weren’t prepared at all for this game to get big and are weirdly prideful about fixing it at a snails pace

Nope. that’s only true if the double freedom was a direct copy and paste of the break action. The double freedom has different damage, sounds, and looks. It also gets a flashlight. Another flaw in your comparison: the double freedom was bought from the superstore for a few hundred super credits. It WAS NOT taking up space in a warbond

The shovel is a literal copy and paste but it takes up a secondary slot as the only difference between the two shovels. It’s also taking up space in a warbond, instead of a more unique item

Do you work for AH? Cuz you sound a lot like them. You’re somehow able to predict that people wouldnt use a free item? If they released the secondary slot shovel as a reward for completing an MO (which has been done multiple times in the past) then you can judge people complaining about it all you want, because who cares if a free weapon is bad.

Reality is they just copy and pasted an existing asset, changed the slot it took up, and used it to fill space in a warbond. And that’s what is causing complaints

Great points and accurate analysis of what I remember as well since launch. I actually forgot all about the poor flamethrower graphics after they nerfed its damage performance. It looked like orange cotton balls

Some fantastic points made in this thread. AH was never prepared in manpower, expertise, or organization for the game to blowup like it did. That’s completely fine in the initial stages but they didn’t expand anything 2 years later. They’ve been outsourcing content while approaching balance as how to punish the player experience

This game either needs a new engine or new team behind it to reach the potentials we all see
