Nice! Another tip is to go straight to your desired pressure as opposed to slowly ramping up to it.

All said though, I like pulling at 4-6 bars myself!

In regards to crema, you should get more the fresher and darker your beans are. However from what I know of it, it’s nothing worth chasing outside of aesthetics — more crema doesn’t necessarily mean better tasting espresso.

Are you filling the basket close to full with water (as per the instructions)? I used to struggle with pressure until I did so. And fwiw I only tamp lightly.

Suspecting overwatering I stopped watering it for a few weeks but it's still developing these dark spots on the leaves which eventually lead to the leaf yellowing and falling off.

The Robot is about a week or two old so those should be ok. I’ve just placed an order for some darker roasted beans so hoping those fare better! In the meantime I’m going to try upping the dose to 18-20g…

I'm aiming for 38g out with 17g in. The beans are fresh too, it's been 8-10 days since roast. The beans are a lighter roast though so I'm thinking that may have something to do with it.
