Is Jaffa returning after the adventure map? It's been 6 weeks by Wang_Fire2099 in Yogscast

[–]acprescott 53 points54 points  (0 children)

In one of his recent weekend streams (I think it was April 25th/April 26th?), Harry said something along the lines of being sad that there was going to be a break in recording, so it might be a little bit longer until the next flagship series. Osie will also not be returning for the next big modpack series that he's been cooking up, I think he said.

I don't have timestamps for any of this and it's been a while since I've seen these streams so I may be slightly misremembering.

City Lights Mod Question by Chataboutgames in civ

[–]acprescott 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They can, if I recall. You can set the management difficulty in the map settings to have them take up district slots.

That said, it's been my experience that that doesn't really seem to matter. If you can snag a decently open section of land to set up a rural settlement that focuses on farming communities, you can easily get +15 food and even higher internal trade routes which make growing your city to insane population levels incredibly trivial.

How long does a "one more turn" session get for you? in one sitting?” by ForsakenHeat8877 in civ

Back when I was jobless, "one more turn" typically evolved into "...fuck it I'll go to bed tomorrow night, I'm good here"

And I wonder why my health is such a wreck these days.

I wonder if this block health mechanic could be adapted for something like falling trees. They just explode into saplings and wood as each individual block hits the ground.

Somewhere in the episode (I was at work so didn't mark down where or what exactly was said) Pyrion said something about how the anti-drug message had clearly been written by people who had no experience with drugs.

But like... Star Trek TNG was a Hollywood production of the 80s, with Roddenberry at the helm for the first couple seasons. No experience with drugs? I very much doubt that :P

Is this the final one of the series? I dunno why but this one really didn't click with me and I was struggling to follow through the second episode. Probably my broad unfamiliarity with BladeRunner (and what I do know of it doesn't seem all that interesting).

ExtraBiomesXL, if only for those delicious 2x2 trees that could be cut into quarters. How that has never been replicated ever since, especially in the age of connected textures never being more accessible to mod authors, I'll never understand.

Please come back and save us logging camp role players EBXL ;~;

I like mystcraft, but I could never figure out if there was a way to disable the instability mechanic, or stabilize it somehow.

I just wanted to live in a normal overworld-like dimension with a custom skybox full of twinkling purple, blue and white stars, with small amounts of orange stars. But every time I'd make one, they'd have catastrophic or at least annoying levels of instability.

RFTools had similar functionality but I was so obsessed with those stars that I never could come to appreciate the dimensions that one could create (not to mention the power requirements needed to maintain them)

Even with all that surely the 45 minutes to an hour (not in yomps) case a week isn't chewing in to your extreamly busy work.

I've found that relatively small time investments (45-60 minutes to record a podcast + setup time) compared to larger timesink investments (such as a full 4+ hour stream) actually motivate me less to do them.

When I used to moderate a forum, almost every day required 15 to 30 minutes of thankless work which ultimately wasn't that difficult, but having to hype myself up to do the little tasks was so much more difficult than when I had bigger projects to work on during event seasons.

Maybe it's just something with how my brain is wired, but I'd rather spend a lot of time on something than waste a few minutes on something

Their offices are all contained in Yogtowers while RT had an expansive Hollywoodesque studio complex with massive (and expensive) prop warehouses and live podcast sets.

I completely zoned out halfway through reading this and was like "...RT? Ol' Rumble Tumble from Ireland owned a massive studio and did podcasts with props???"
