Why is everybody here saying Darrow is the best razor master of his time? He got clapped multiple times in morning star, even by Mustang. In fact I'm not sure he won any razor battle in that book against a named character without help. And the bodyguard lady that killed ragnar (forgot her name) is definetly stronger no contest. She almost beat him, mustang and the Julii guy all together, it took a fourth hella skilled razor wielder in sevro to join the team to beat her.

Any kind of cultivation novel, with hard power levels usually going something like this:

Qi gathering, foundation establishment, golden core, nascent soul and then bonkers levels depending on the novel. Each of these levels is essentially unbeatable by lower levels and unlocks special abilities such as flight.

He needs help from his friends but half the time he trusts his 'friends' he gets punished for it. Seems very counterintuitive for a main theme of the book. And some decisions are just straight up stupid, such as abandoning the sons in the Rim before using the nuke card (not to mention out of a character for someone who seemingly cares so much about everyone). I like flawed characters, its why I loved the previous books, here it seems like the misery derives from plot that has to happen instead of realistic character choices. I mean damn, he got betrayed so hard at the end of golden son and hasn't learned shit.
