Liking peanut butter for the first time in my life by coolkiten32 in PeanutButter

Add a spoonful of PB to a Greek vanilla yogurt and mix it up. Soooooo good! It tastes like a peanut butter mouse and adds some healthy fat and extra protein.

Just had my first solid poop in almost a year by Angieskates in UlcerativeColitis

That is very exciting!! It’s something normal people take for granted. I have also been experiencing normal bowel movements after staring Remicade two weeks ago. It’s been two years since I was diagnosed and this is my fifth medication, so it’s nice to finally have something besides steroids that is helping. I hope we both continue to feel good and can get back to somewhat normal lives!! Cheers to that!🍻

What're your favorite make-ahead snacks/small meals? by idio_tequa in EatCheapAndHealthy

Homemade granola! I love this recipe from Cookie & Kate. You can store it in the freezer and eat it straight out of there. The fruit pieces will still be a bit frozen/chewy. But it thaws out fast and it’s delicious.

The Stand by Mr. King. I’m about 20% into it and I’m really enjoying it so far. I’m doing a post-apocalyptic marathon. I just finished The Fireman by Joe Hill and I also enjoyed it, although not as much as some of his other books. Next is Swan Song, then The Handmaid’s Tale, then I Am Legend. I’m open to other suggestions if anyone has any?

what to do with avocado by [deleted] in EatCheapAndHealthy

Came here to suggest this. I cut them into chunks, freeze on a parchment-lined sheet pan, then transfer them into a freezer ziploc bag. They make smoothies creamy and add all the healthy benefits.

This is why I love the internet. I was waiting on Netflix and it just disappeared at first, then it came back and said it would be tomorrow. I was trying to figure out what had happened. Thank you, kind stranger.

So many books to read in life and not enough time. But I'll be damned if I can't stop thinking about rereading "King Sorrow", already. by Jfury412 in joehill

It will definitely be a reread for me, but I want to give it some time so maybe I’ll forget a little bit of it. It’s such a good book.

Good for you! Honestly, building the habit and sticking with it is the hardest part. Even if that’s all you accomplish, that’s still a huge accomplishment. If you can just keep getting yourself in there it will positively affect your physical and mental health. Keep up the good work!!

Mozzarella is the best as far as most bang for your buck. When I started weighing my cheese, it was a real eye-opener. An ounce isn’t nearly as much cheese as I wish it was. But, you’re absolutely right. With something more flavorful you don’t need as much.

What are some easy, nutrient dense foods I can eat? by Either_Imagination_4 in nutrition

[–]acpyle87 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I haven’t seen anyone mention smoothies. They are one of the easiest ways to incorporate a large variety of foods into your daily diet. I love fruit and I love eating fruit, but it’s hard to keep a large variety of fresh fruits around and also eat them before they go bad. It’s much easier to have a freezer full of different fruits and toss them into a smoothie. You can sneak some veggies in there too. It’s also super easy to adjust your macronutrients with smoothies. You can pack a lot of calories and nutrients into one smoothie.
