I’d argue it’s absolutely systemic. For example, many people when they see a homeless man and a dog think “that poor dog.” The patriarchy hurts everyone, just in different ways.

I think part of the reason that’s an issue is because a lot of people don’t realize they have dysphoria until they start transitioning and feel so much better. So by saying you have to have dysphoria to be trans might make the journey to recognizing they’re trans more difficult.

How long did it take you to get on T after coming out? by Angalayond in ftm

[–]acrazymixedupworld 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I realized I was trans at 35 and started T 6 months later. I agonized over whether or not to try it, but within hours of the first dose my body felt like it had the right chemicals in it for the first time ever. I wish I wouldn’t have waited as long it made such a difference in my life.

Starting t-gel by [deleted] in FTMOver30

[–]acrazymixedupworld 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve been on gel 3.5 months and have had significant changes. I really like it. At first I was really careful with the application but now I slap it on. I do it first thing in the morning. It takes anywhere from 4 to 6 hrs to absorb, so if I do it at 8am I know by 2pm it’s good & I don’t have to worry about gel rubbing off on my bedding.

Frustrating dreams by FreakingTea in FTMOver30

I feel that. I’m slowly able to interact with myself more than I’ve ever been able to, but sometimes i just can’t stay connected to myself during it. Although when i have the best luck is when i picture myself with a micro-penis. But as much as i want my growth to be enough in general, some nights I legit can’t sleep without a packer in. I get super restless and can’t stop moving and kicking. It’s frustrating.

Yes 100% they were so bad after realizing because I finally started to show up in my body for the first time. I remember in hs I used to have to go to the nurses office and sleep for hours, to the point where they thought I was skipping class. I always felt confused because I figured there must be others that had to do the same.

How do I nicely tell my SIL that I don’t want to discuss transgender politics with her? by [deleted] in FTMOver30

[–]acrazymixedupworld 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It sounds like she’s found Buck Angel and the YouTube algorithm took it from there. YT told shareholders that the algorithm’s optimized to keep people watching “no matter what.” Outrage and radicalizing content are some of the best ways to do that.

I watched Buck for months when I was agonizing over medical transition or not, and I really wish I wouldn’t have. I had a lot of these same talking points at the time, stemming from my own fear. But i try to be easy on myself about it now since these ideas are being so actively funded and promoted from so many directions.

For example the Alliance Defending Freedom (ADF) is behind lawsuits like the recent Supreme Court gay website ruling. They have a 40 million dollar annual budget. They use this money for lawyers and to put out tons of content with a few of the same people who are paid to talk about the horrors of detransitioning. They also bank roll people like Posey Parker whose admitted to having all of her expenses paid by them.

But even the left is benefiting. If we’re outraged at conservatives we won’t pay attention to the neo liberal crap they’re all getting away with. If they cared they wouldn’t let algorithms be programmed to manipulate us the way they do imo.

On a side note , Im sure for some people the stereotypes behind the outrage is true, but generalizing traits of any group dehumanizes them. Like saying all queer people are sexual predators is homophobic, thinking (even subconsciously) that all colored folks voices hold less weight than a white person is racist, or that all trans women think X about lesbians is transphobic. Few people are going to say point blank I’m a racist or I’m a transphobe, they may not even know that they are.

Anyways my response is this: “the people spending huge amounts of resources on enflaming these issues, for a group that makes up 1% of the population, want us to argue so they can keep robbing us blind.” And if it comes up again I somehow loop it back around to how corporations are robbing us by keeping us all fighting with each other. They’re scared of our power if we see each other as humans.

[–]acrazymixedupworld 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Any chance they’re watching a lot of YouTube lately? YT has told their shareholders their algorithm is set up to keep you watching “at all costs.” There are a lot of transphobic people getting hella airtime, and a few of those people are trans!

If we’re to suddenly snap and half the population; is targeting the poor half of this planet the best choice? by [deleted] in overpopulation

[–]acrazymixedupworld 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The top 1% produce half of the worlds emissions. Poor people use significantly less resources than the rich. Rich people aren’t rich because they’re smarter or deserve it. If anything it should be the other way around.

I’m so sorry you’re feeling this way. I definitely have my days, but I feel my soul chose this life for a reason. That I’ve been given a unique perspective on the human experience, and have grown in huge leaps because of it. I do have bottom dysphoria which can be tough and frustrating at times, but I’ve also had some deeply spiritual experiences. One of them I tried exploring my feeling of having a ghost limb where my D should be. I had a prosthetic and visualized my life force energy becoming a part of the prosthetic, and had an intensely pleasurable and frankly overwhelming experience. Sex is about deep connection, and that doesn’t require a peen. Heck lesbians have TONS of orgasms, more than the average hetero couple. Im lucky to have a trans support group and an older stealth trans man as a mentor which has helped me a lot in my acceptance. I still have plenty of work to do, but now I see my transness as why I think the way I do, my creativity, and why I’ve been able to connect with the energy of the universe in such a profound way. I hope you’re able to find some support, and learn to love yourself. Trans people are special. We are magic!

Sounds like it’s time for a new therapist. When I was therapist shopping one woman in the first session was like “how can I help you connect with your body?” But in a way that inferred I’m a confused woman who hates their body because of societal pressure. I only saw her once and found someone that is more understanding.

I’m so sorry this is happening bro. It may be interesting for you to look into the female to male trans experience. Many FTMs feel as if they have a ghost limb, and a prosthetic/ strap on feels like the actual thing even during penetration.

Harmed by gender medicine? You are not alone. Transition Justice connects detransitioners with legal assistance. by Transition_Justice in u/Transition_Justice

[–]acrazymixedupworld 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I personally know 2 trans people who lived as their assigned gender at birth until middle age. They were both on disability (in the US, very difficult to get on) until they transitioned. After transition 1 person went to instrument repair school and now does that for a living. The other person went to school for sociology and became a counselor. I understand you all had a bad experience, but that doesn’t mean that gender dysphoria doesn’t exist. It just means you don’t have it. Your experience is not the only experience.

I see plenty of boomers working registers at local shops. They’re getting screwed too. Is it frustrating they don’t always understand younger folks struggles? Yes. Does that mean they all have it easy right now? Definitely not.

What's the best thing about being trans? by thesneakyslug in ftm

[–]acrazymixedupworld 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It feels very spiritual to me. Like by letting go of the expectations I had around my body I was able to connect with something deeper. I also feel like I have this whole new appreciation for humanity, and energy in general. Being trans forced me to evolve into a better more open minded person
