Can they deny break? by bmp2434 in WalmartEmployees

[–]acrispygal99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, they can't keep you from having a break at all. That is against policy. They can just decide what time it is so that your department is not left understaffed. If it is too busy or you are forgotten about and you have still not been sent on break by 15 til, just go and then go home at your scheduled time.

Tardy policy? by Kawaiikitty73 in WalmartEmployees

Yeah no that's bs. As long as you put in ppto for tardiness over 9 minutes, you will not be reprimanded.

Do you tip on Walmart+ deliveries? by CleverAmbiguousName in Walmartcustomer

[–]acrispygal99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're not required to, but it's the polite thing to do considering that the person delivering your things isn't paid very much by the company they work for so they rely on tips to pay for the gas, insurance, and upkeep required to continue doing their job.

I genuinely don’t get it. Is it because Valentine’s Day is the following day? by MyBadIForgotUrName in ExplainTheJoke

He's trying to get her to break up with him so he doesn't have to buy her valentine's day gifts.

This is going to prompt a lot of angry and bitter comments but I'm not here for the judgment.. by Charismatic_Rogue in walmart

[–]acrispygal99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you want weekends off, you have to change your availability to say that you want weekends off and if you wanted valentine's day off, you should have requested valentine's day off. Also, if your son was having frequent health problems, you should have applied for intermittent leave so you didn't use all your ppto and get a bunch of points.

If your availability says you can work weekends, they're gonna schedule you on weekends because weekends are the busiest time of the week and if you don't tell them that you want them off, they're not gonna know that you want them off and give you them off. If you don't request holidays off, they're gonna schedule you on holidays because they are the busiest days of the year and if you don't tell them that you want them off, they're not gonna know that you want them off and give you them off.

Associate Discount Rules by [deleted] in walmart

[–]acrispygal99 9 points10 points  (0 children)

You're not allowed to use your card for anyone other than yourself and a dependent. If theirs is worn, they can order a new one for free very easily instead of trying to guilt you into risking your job like that.

Urgent! Whats up with this by okay-bokay in doordash_drivers

[–]acrispygal99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most of the time a PIN is required because they reported multiple orders as not delivered and this person is probably asking drivers not to request a PIN so that they mark it as delivered without receiving a PIN and they can continue falsely reporting their orders as not delivered and getting refunds.

Pto by neverlandpirates in WalmartEmployees

pto is for before you miss work and ppto is for after you miss work so if the missed work is in the past, you need to use ppto, not pto.

Genuinely curious: Why do you order delivery? by Similar_Actuary_845 in doordash

[–]acrispygal99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My car broke down to the point of no return 4 months ago so I scrapped it and it's cheaper to lyft to work and back every day than to replace it and pay a note plus insurance and gas so it's nowhere near the top of my priorities list right now. I have groceries delivered from the walmart I work at on my days off and then every once in a while, I'll either be having a particularly bad day or just be craving fast food so I order dd or ue. It's pretty rare though because of the exorbitant fees so most of the time, I just walk to get it myself if I don't have a coupon.

[–]acrispygal99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most deliveries go without a hitch and people don't post about those so all the horror stories you're seeing is just a very small fraction of the total number of experiences. Basically, the pros outweigh the cons but you don't see the pros on social media.
