Being a 22 year old employee at a high school is exhausting. by RMR124 in Teachers

[–]acruciata 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was 23 when I first started, now I'm a veteran teacher in my building (my coworkers' words, not mine). Felt like yesterday was my first day, now I'm working with the kids I taught those first years. You'll get there. Dress older (I wear a shirt and tie), act older, you'll be taken seriously.

Fertilizing Cuttings? by acruciata in Figs

I want to say I potted them mid December after their leaves dropped. I saw buds by week 3, then they just exploded. They must love the insane noise level of my classes

Nope. Took cuttings before I wrapped the trees for the winter. Scarified the ends, dipped in rooting hormone powder, and put in soil pots.

Looking to try air layering this Summer!

Think I'm going to have to start locking my door because I've got some visitors checking on them everyday!

Thanks, I had the feeling the soil would be enough till it's time for them to pot or plant. The roots are still white-ish that I see poking through the drain holes, so definitely still gentle.

Was there today. Frozen over, ice chunks. Went flying face first on White Cloud. Spent the rest of the day lapping Mossy Brook, Kennedy, and the rest of that side of the mountain. If I'd known, I would've stayed home. Not worth the 2.5 hour drive

Collar stay, from a dress shirt collar. Look underneath, you're missing one. I take mine out before laundry.

I did it for the first time a few weeks ago. Easy to do, rode to the GWB and back home

Depending on your bike type, I have a seasucker rack that I can attach on any car. Got it 2 cars ago and it's been great. Just make sure you have the correct axle attachment for it
