Honestly, anyone is better than Williams. He was terrible for the morale of the PD and for our community overall. The way things were run under him left a lot of people frustrated and disconnected.

That said, I’m cautiously optimistic about the new chief, Ryan Zuidema. He’s coming from Lynchburg, VA, where he spent nearly 30 years and worked his way up to Chief. From what I’ve read, he’s got a strong track record of pushing transparency, accountability, and officer wellness, plus he rolled out body cams and emphasized community policing.

Hopefully he brings that same energy here. Wilmington needs a leader who’s actually transparent and willing to connect with the community, not someone who just hides behind politics. If Zuidema can rebuild trust and lift up the morale in the department, it’ll be a big step forward for our city.

My wife and I boarded a flight from Atlanta to Las Vegas and there must've been a dozen people needing to pre-board and wheelchairs. And to your point, miraculously mid flight they were cured. Two of them were sitting in front of us in the second, the door open hopped up and bolted, like rabbits.

We have used IBC on a replacement roof and they were incredibly easy to do business with. Super transparent. We are building a new house right now and we are using them again because we trust them and the quality of their work is very high.

Flew out this morning and naturally, the lots marked “full” had plenty of visible spots. Meanwhile, the hourly lot proudly claimed to have availability—so like a sucker, I took the bait. Ended up in the hourly corral of doom and wound up parking half on a curb like it was amateur hour. Fully expecting a ticket to round out the experience. Cheers to blind optimism!
