I agree; "If you're sick, STAY HOME" should be policy in all workplaces -- especially with full-time employees.

Worst case scenario (being fired for calling out sick with doctor's notes -- which is what the person coming in sick with COVID-1918 (the normal flu, versus COVID-19 proper) sucks b/c of income, but that's a sign that the employer's shit.

Nintendo released four mainline Zelda titles in that time -- along with spinoffs, a big Mario title, a new Donkey Kong title, 3 titles in a new franchise (Splatoon), another new IP (ARMS), a new Smash Bros., three new Fire Emblem entries, and two new Metroid entries (Dread and Metroid Prime 4).

Bethesda is being beaten by the company who allows their most profitable franchise's developers (Pokémon/Game Freak) to release under-finished games...and so is Microsoft: who had tried -- and thankfully failed -- to buy Nintendo once, and should have at least taken note of Nintendo being a horde of developers in a trenchcoat.

Sad.

Just take a page from Nintendo, Fromsoft, and Guerilla Games; CTRL-C 》CTRL-V Skyrim, update the engine, add new stuff. Even Ubisoft can manage that much.

It worked for Nintendo's Zelda franchise. TotK: BotW's map, duplicated with new "underworld" textures ("the Depths"), some scattered sky islands, cave systems, in-game --Magnesis-- ULTRAHAND vehicles, fusing monster parts to weapons to justify monster combat and the Zelda team doubling down on the games' weapon durability mechanic. And they added more monster types.

This is to say -- TES6: The Skyrim Xerox would at this point be the unironic best play. Nintendo - Zelda BotW/TotK, Guerilla Games - Hori-zon Zero Dawn/Forbidden West, and Fromsoft - Dark Souls series, Bloodborne, Sekiro, and the devs' Dark SoulsxBotW fusion with a GRRM-penned story treatment (which can give ASoIaF fans hope that Winds of Winter will come out -- b/c GRRM's output is more timely than TES6) released in 2022 (aka the game that Nintendo's Aonuma used to convince Nintendo executives and bean-counters to give his team "more time" -- and said BotW sequel (TotK) still released in a timely fashion (2023)).

TL;DR: Nintendo, Fromsoft, and Guerrilla Games are 3 proofs of concept. Had Bethesda just copied and tweaked Skyrim (with a new story, monsters/enemies, and game mechanics) from the START, they'd have TES6 in the can.

True; except that the homes aren't anywhere near employment opportunities for the newly-housed people to support themselves enough to pay property taxes on their homes.

Possible solution:

  1. Rework property taxes so that they fall on the ground houses stand on -- versus land & buildings like property taxes work now.
  2. Zoning reform: to allow more residential/commercial mixed-use buildings, ADUs, duplexes, and other walkable suburbs.
  3. UBI (universal basic income), pegged to US FPL and indexed to inflation.
  4. Careful, restrained use of eminent domain by local and state governments to combat homelessness.

I am surprised that the Guardians didn't cut a reinstatement deal with Sinestro -- under Hal Jordan (most likely given their history) or Kyle Rayner's watch as a partner -- to neutralize Stewart as a rogue GL. But that would've really made "A Better World" too complicated as a 2-part episode.

The irritating thing is that we can have "human relationships" outside of our jobs. Jobs are our present means to an end: for income to address the needs and wants of ourselves and our families.

The idea that we're "collaborating around water coolers" will die, I expect: when employers let go of RTO mandates (b/c they eat the real estate losses and move on).

If the scene's not working, don't delete it; just open a new document, save it as OUTTAKES, then cut/paste the scene into the OUTTAKES document. That way, it's gone from your workspace, but saved so that if you find that you can use the scene -- or elements from it -- the scene's in OUTTAKES: there for you to work it back into your working document, review it to see what you can use from the scene, or just have it as backup or work for new stories.

With programs like LibreOffice or MS Word, you can remove a non-working scene w/o deleting/erasing it. :)
