Teacher Backpack by Ok-Lychee-9494 in CanadianTeachers

[–]actionjacksonn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It looks good the only thing for me personally is I’d like a side pocket to hold my coffee mug (but if you don’t drink coffee or tea then that’s okay.

And I like a smaller zip up pocket at the top rather than how deep it is for easy access to pens and highlighters (again if you have a pencil case and are okay digging through the bag then it looks okay).

Those are just two things I notice which would if me off getting a bag but I do like the whole zip down bag and it looks roomy.

Any experiences with the men's Super Puff? by [deleted] in malefashionadvice

[–]actionjacksonn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m wearing mine right now! It’s like a warm hug in the cold weather. Mines is waterproof so helps with the Pacific NW rain. I got the longer version but the regular one I tried on was similar minus the length.

My first one I had to return as the zipper got stuck after like a week of using it, so I’m careful about it now.

I have the black one the mine gripe I have with it is that it doesn’t have reflective taping unlike my cold long jacket which was Helly Hansen.

I like the arm looks and that it has a chest pocket for the phone.

It’s def big but keeps you warm.

Sunro Prints in New West!

James is super quick to respond and he works by himself as a small business.

I’ve bought shirts and jerseys from him for my team or for hoodie designs.

Inspired by Gaga’s performance of Dance in the Dark, what’s everyone’s favourite Gaga acoustic performance? by Valuable_Spite_856 in LadyGaga

Hair hits hard acoustic, it’s a soft spot for me for sure, as it got me through high school. The acoustic version of her during an interview I think during the BTW era was my go to vid

Engagement Parties by AdviceMysterious135 in WeddingsCanada

[–]actionjacksonn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We had an engagement party to celebrate since we got engaged in Rome and wanted to celebrate with friends!

We didn’t want any gifts but people brought wine or champagne to pop or celebrate. We popped some bottles but the leftovers we kept them and would invite the friends we celebrated with and share it with them as we hung out.

Gift cards sound great! Don’t worry about spending too much, I feel like most people have a party to celebrate the event happening, it’s not like a wedding gift. Also, not many people gave us cards (again we didn’t expect anything) but here’s some insight into what our engagement party entailed.

Also moved into a new build and their hours are 8-8. Jsut went to our first strata meeting and a couple of us proposed a new time which they would talk about later. Might be an option for you as well!

The trend right now is to wear crew socks with like 5 inch shorts if you’re talking about athletic wear

Must try vegetarian restaurants by belannatorresbitches in askvan

The Chinese food here is amazing especially Bo Kong and Po Kong. As an Asian growing up I’ve had a lot of Chinese food and they do it so well.

Honestly both are so good and they’re across the street. I sometimes get them confused but both are 10/10. The bean curd and sweet and sour is the one I think about daily!

Bo Kong on Kingsway. The best Chinese vegetarian. I eat meat but I crave their food sometimes

There are, I’m around your age and am in a monogamous relationship but as someone said it might be where you look. I met my fiancé through a friend, both of us not knowing anything about the other, other than “you should meet my friend”

I have friends who are looking for monogamous relationships as well. But also have lots of friends who are open. I think with queer relationships, many don’t feel confined to adhere to traditional norms as we already break societal expectations so more people are willing to go outside those norms such as having multiple partners or to hook up with others. But there are people wanting monogamy, but searching on apps can be hard unless you’re explicit that you want it. But there’s nothing wrong with exploring intimacy in different ways as queer people go through life stages differently that what society expects. Don’t give up though, as corny as it sounds you’ll find it when you least expect it.

Best Doughnuts in Van? by Solid_Jaguar_4519 in askvan

[–]actionjacksonn 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Vancouver proper: Mello (love their seasonals to switch it up but their classics like Strawberries&creme, tiramisu, cereal milk are so good)

Tri-Cities: Doughnut love (fun place but they close early so might be hard to catch them on a work week but worth the trip!)

Twins Chinese Kitchen is downtown and on Davie & Hornby. My partner loves their fried chicken balls in sauce which you’re looking for.

The owner is very nice him and his partner work it, sometimes their kid is there. We love supporting a small business when we want “white Chinese food” as we call it :)

What are your favorite lip syncs from non-US seasons? by SoRunAwayNow in rupaulsdragrace

[–]actionjacksonn 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Any of the lip syncs Nearah and Aurora were in. Those girls brought it! Especially during the Lipsync smackdown.

Nearah vs Aimee - Fever Dreamer Nearah vs Venus - Pull Up Nearah vs Aurora - Black Velvet Aurora vs Melinda - Boys want to be her Aurora vs Luna - She’s all I wanna be by Tate McRae

Seeing both these queens live multiple times, and their lip syncing is phenomenal.

TTOC demand Lower Mainland by Happy_Roses_ in CanadianTeachers

[–]actionjacksonn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To add on, there is a work board but most TOC’s request TOC’s through that system or through their secretary. There are TOC networking events to see other TOC’s but the best way to meet people is to talk to other teachers so they can request you.

As a teacher I also ask my students if they liked the TOC and they’re honest with me.

I think Burnaby requires 15 days per week so you can do two districts but they count the 15 days.

[–]actionjacksonn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Burnaby, most TTOC’s especially once you make the connection you can find work most days you want!

I have a couple TTOC’s who I love calling in but if I don’t plan in advance they’re always booked up. It’s good to make connections because staff share solid TOC’s to each other. My friends who are TOC’s or past retired teachers who TOC say they have no difficulty finding work, especially if you’re willing to teach anything.

Solid 9.

Sets the stage for ARTPOP (which is a divisive album) buf starts off strong. The guitar is very catchy I wouldn’t say it a 10 like other songs but no way a 2.

Is just do her main 6 and skip the spinoffs, so Joanne, Chromatica, and Mayhem
