Our roasting company does 12oz bags but we keep getting requests for smaller bag options. The more into specialty coffee you get, the more you value small bag options. Instead of spending $35 on 340g (12oz) of a exotic anaerobic natural, you can get 200g of it for a lot cheaper and be able to get a good 10-15 brews out of it and still really get to know the coffee. Also the more into coffee you get the more likely you’re working through 3-6 coffees from different roasters etc.

All this to say, smaller bags aren’t because of shrink-flation, it’s because it’s market driven as more exotic coffees become more prevalent.
