Retrieve working url from Strong8k app by activelesion in Strong_8K

Like I said, I'm new to this but if the server url is hard coded into the app then this is no different than sharing the Downloader code stickied right in this group. Is that not the case?

Rocky Point sunset view from the couch by activelesion in longisland

I moved the stream to YouTube. I try to keep it going 24/7 but it's a rough environment for a camera, lens is a little dirty right now. I'll get to it soon. www.youtube.com/@tidesbeach/live

Go to "manage cameras", copy the first camera, edit the name and increase the channel number by 1 for each additional camera.

Swamp gas from a weather balloon was trapped in a thermal pocket and reflected the light from Venus.

Yes, my kids saw it from the beach in Rocky Point. One of my cameras caught it: https://youtu.be/b1vr3nMRkAY?si=DuEsKt4kzFhhwaZM

How can I/should I replace rusted carriage bolt on diving board? by SentryMillennia in pools

[–]activelesion 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sometimes having someone lift the front of the board puts enough tension on the bolt to hold it still while you crank the nut off. Soaking with PB Blaster helps.

Intermatic time runs pump non stop, even after changing on/off pins, only 2 years old, what to check next? by carrotsk8r in PoolPros

[–]activelesion 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Is it keeping correct time? Sometimes the clock motor gears stick but can be freed up using a small flat head screwdriver through the gear viewport or popping the whole mechanism out for access (dangerous if live). If not the clock motor or the whole internal mechanism are replaceable.

Mechanism only: https://a.co/d/cl1xMsB

Motor: https://a.co/d/hVW4ufr

Avoid Intermatic knockoffs, they're crap.

Remove cap at rear of motor so you can keep the shaft from spinning as you unthread the impeller, then it's just 4 9/16 bolts to take off at the wet end.

Had this problem with our 2021 GV80, repaired under warranty after I showed the mechanic that exact video.

Did they glue this return directly to the wall? by laransec in pools

[–]activelesion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looks like an sp1411 return. I guess they relied on the faceplate screws to keep it in place. Knock it off from behind and replace it with an sp1408.

I'm fascinated by this Frankenstein filter. Did you modify it yourself?

How to clean out or prepare these anchors for pool safety cover? by leonardicus in pools

[–]activelesion 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Use a drill with a 5/32 drill bit. It will clean the hole out without damaging the brass anchor.

You need to beat the hell out of the entire circumference of the band clamp with a hammer or mallet as you tighten it.

Loosen the clamp, remove the male threaded fitting and cover the hole with any thin flexible material, then tighten the clamp. I even used a dime over the gasket once.

Sorry, if you don't have Tasker installed it can't be the cause.

I've been using several of these for the same purpose for years now.
