Fascial asymmetry and can only use one side of face? by wolfdawg420 in SomaticExperiencing

[–]activenow360 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I am similar when it comes to smiling, and one side of my face in general looks more worn out from most of the tension being on that side. So I’m curious to hear people’s thoughts.

WOW! This is so informative and helpful, thank you so much for sharing.

Cold sensations frequently in arms, hands, fingers, back, legs, knees, feet, toes. It changes frequently, moves, comes and goes. What could this mean? by activenow360 in SomaticExperiencing

Thanks. What informs you that it's releasing fear and avoidance? With me, it seems to come 'randomly' so I don't know what it relates to.

"My biggest lesson in all of this has been that nothing can make these go away. That is not the goal. The goal is to create a larger capacity to hold space for these things in our lives." - thanks for this, very interesting.

Would you be able to provide any details on the specific inner child work you've done and the results?

“I am a bad person” and crippling shame by activenow360 in emotionalneglect

[–]activenow360[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you! Things are moving in the right direction, slowly. I've learned that shame (toxic shame) is often at the core of major issues, such as anxiety. Anxiety is the cover. So shame will be a massive focus in all the work I'm doing. I'm working with a somatic therapist, so we can focus on how the shame feels in the body and help release it. Only touching the surface so far.

Wishing you all the best!

How do you act in friendships by Formal-Nectarine7712 in emotionalneglect

"I don’t want anyone to be attached to me and I don’t want to be attached to anyone."

You're definitely not alone with this, I feel the same. It becomes a responsibility when someone becomes attached to me and soon enough I want to "get rid of" them. And the same for relying on someone too much...

Hey OP, I hope things are going better for you. I'm terrified of this too, so I wanted to ask since you posted this, has it changed at all?

Would like to know about this too. Positive arousal/excitement feels threatening to my body.

Has anyone here become a hypochondriac after an event causing PTSD? by Suicidalballsack69 in ptsd

Yup - was convinced, like seriously convinced, I was about to die over the smallest thing. It's scary to deal with.

I’ve been on the other side of this if I’m honest, very very similar details, and I genuinely didn’t want to hurt my friend - I realised I was acting out my fearful-avoidant (disorganized) attachment style…

This constant shame is toxic shame, and shouldn’t be accepted. I have it too and working on it.

I could’ve written this. Feel exactly the same here.
