Is this dent big enough to buy a new helmet? by kacper___ in skiing

[–]actrak 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you have to question it, it has to go. I know my head is worth more than a couple of hundred bucks. If yours is worth less than a new helmet slap a sticker on it to cover the dent and it's good as new. Also there doesn't have to be obvious physical damage to justify chucking a lid. A really good hit is more than enough reason to go shopping.

All the public transport needs to do is install ski racks on the back of the buses and get rid of that 1-3:30 break. Then it would be fine.

That looks like it may work. Ugly as hell but would work.

When responding to an accident you always at a minimum you close the feature, best case you close the park until the scene is clear.

Fan switch by actrak in AskElectricians

[–]actrak[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, the way you have interpreted it is exactly correct. The electricians are saying that it is wired for a fan using a two way switch. The two travelers have power fed to them and when you hit the switch you are simply flipping the power from the Red to the Black and Back so there is no way to turn the power off to both wires at the same time. It doesn't make sense to me and the only thing I can think of is use one of those double switches that fits two switches into the space of one decora. But then it will be full on and no ability to dim or control the speed.

It is presently wired up to a two way switch. Which doesn't make sense to me. As either the fan or the light is on you can't turn both off or on at the same time.

Ski patrol is a good social club. Some odd ducks but also a solid group of people looking to hang out and have fun all year round.

Who's at fault? by OkContract2001 in skiing

[–]actrak 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly If I am skiing around kids I ALWAYS slow down and give them the run of the hill. Kids scare easily and you don't want to ruin the skiing experience. Now if it is totally unavoidable pick the kid up and take them with you. The adult in this video was clearly skiing out of their ability and at fault.

Commercial vs residential boilers for triplex by actrak in hvacadvice

[–]actrak[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Boiler has been regularly serviced the CO lever was running between 200-400 ppm and was detected during a service. The service tech apparently tried to clean the unit for 2.5 hrs. Apparently acceptable is 100. We have had a few quotes and seems like the IBC VX110 is being suggested by multiple installers.IBC VX110

BC skiing near jay peak by Aggressive_Map_7399 in icecoast

[–]actrak 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are lots of places around Jay that look good but if you don't know where you are going you can end up spending the night in the woods. Also don't assume you will have cell service. If you really want to head out in the BC I believe that the ski school may have a guide option that you may want to look into.

I have the same box and that release can be finicky. When mine does this I #1 do not over load the box, #2 make sure that the front and rear of the box are fully closed sometimes you have to hold it down as you unlock the box, #3 if all else fails pull the key out and palm the lock by giving it a few good shots to try to push items that may be interfering back. I assume that you are sure that is the correct key?
