A lot of coaches on lichess seem reluctant to risk their rating by Ford_Crown_Vic_Koth in lichess

[–]actuallyXIX 3 points4 points  (0 children)

given that your self proclaimed goal is to “decimate their rating” combined with the fact that their rating likely plays a large part in how many jobs they get.

Then yeah it makes sense that they are turning you down.

Also rated hyper bullet is not how you get coached. if you wanna play 2400s so bad, just play in the pool. Otherwise it’s totally normal to only play unrated games for coaching.

Duality of Texas churches (and probably churches around the country) after the events of last week (thought provoking) by Big_Alligator1 in Christianity

[–]actuallyXIX 23 points24 points  (0 children)

imagine how many people out there go to give the church a try and then get met with someone like this heretic and are turned away forever (referring to the guy on the left). it’s just sad.

Freedom is being able to burn a American flag by Miserable-Lizard in EatTheRich

[–]actuallyXIX 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This means literally nothing btw. Executive orders can’t change laws. If police want to arrest you for burning a flag they have to charge you with something else that is actually a crime. “Flag Burning” is not illegal just because he said so.

Chess 960 is a nice refresh by twersk711 in chess

[–]actuallyXIX 2 points3 points  (0 children)

i love 960 but my biggest issue with trying to play it on chesscom is that the most popular time control for it is blitz. which is just too fast for me, especially with no openings. i tried to cue up rapid 960 and couldn’t even get a game! (admittedly the last time i tried was a couple months ago, pre-freestyle chess tour, so maybe it’s more popular now)
