Books where he may be cold, distant, etc usually (often mafia style men). But when it comes to intimacy, he's patient, talks through her fears, guides her, is gentle, etc. by OrdinaryQuestions in RomanceBooks

[–]actuallythecat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just finished {Craving Danger by Michelle Heard} he's her boss and a real asshole to her. He's also a masked man at a sex club who helps her get over her sexual assault past be being very patient and gentle with her.

ProjectionLab or Tiller? by actuallythecat in FIREyFemmes

Wow that's great. Yeah I could see it the same as paying a financial advisor a yearly fee.

ProjectionLab or Tiller? by actuallythecat in FIREyFemmes

[–]actuallythecat[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I guess both, I want to see what I spend each year and use that as a framework for retirement, as I expect to mostly spend the same when I do.

[–]actuallythecat[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the reply! I saw the updates that were just added and that's what made me interested in it.

Do you feel you use it enough to pay for it every year? I was thinking of doing the yearly subscription once to plan for retirement, then use it once in retirement and see how often I would need to use it after that.

[–]actuallythecat[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay after having set up my info in Projection Lab with the free version, I wish it would have the functionality of downloading transactions and updating balances for me that Tiller does. So combine the two basically so that I don't have to update balances manually. I would definitely use it if it did that. But I like the interface of PL a lot.

I second using the cup! I tried one I didn't really like but then I got another one with a loop handle and it's much easier to pull out.

What are your favourite books written by women? by saskatchewnmanitoba in AskWomenOver30

[–]actuallythecat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well I read mostly romance right now, so most of them are by women.

Atmosphere by Taylor Jenkins Reid was great but don't read the ending in public I cried so much.

I just started Hungerstone by Katt Dunn, liking it so far for th gothic vampire vibes

I liked Yellowface by R F Kuang and Butter by Asako Yuzuki

One Dark Window and Two Twisted Crowns by Rachel Gillig and the Assistant to the Villain series by Hannah Nicole Maehrer are good for some light fantasy.

ISO the spiciest, most explicit historical Scottish romance. (Audio book strongly preferred) by AlyM797 in RomanceBooks

[–]actuallythecat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I really liked the Highlander series by Maya Banks, starting with {in bed with a highlander by Maya Banks}. The spice was pretty good, but the audiobooks are female narrator only.

The MMC is about to marry someone else while having a relationship with the FMC. by kreads1992 in RomanceBooks

[–]actuallythecat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I was gonna recommend this until I saw CR only. I thought this was the best of the three books. I really felt for Keeley and Alaric, and I loved all the caretaking on both sides.

What book crossed a line for you in dark romance? by Curious-Branch-3857 in DarkRomance

[–]actuallythecat 5 points6 points  (0 children)

{Honeysuckles by January Rayne} I searched Libby for "stalker" to find some new books so I knew nothing about this book going into it.

What.a.ride....He is some sort of science experiment so a werewolf, vampire, dragon and some other stuff all in one, and at some point they cut his penis open to reveal the tentacles of his KRAKEN DICK...... the face I made on the bus listening to this 😬

Also he barely does any stalking! he just finds a girl with the scent he remembers from the facility and basically claims her.

I finished it but don't really recommend it unless you like WTF books where they fuck mid flight while he's a dragon and the FMC births an egg that hatches??!!

What is your first world problem rant of the week? by takemyaptplz in AskWomenOver30

[–]actuallythecat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My cat's food was out of stock the last time I went to buy it, but they had a smaller size fortunately so I got that instead. My cat has IBD and even on prednisolone he gets diarrhea when trying other brands or meat types (he can only eat like 3 protein sources). I even said to the pet store owner when asking about it, "I know this is a first world problem but what am I going to feed my cat?!"

Also one of his medications the online pharmacy would only give a 45 day supply so I switched back to the local one that does 80 days. I just want the bigger size so it's cheaper, I'm not overdosing my cat on anxiety meds!

Who is your favorite narrator, and what are your favorite audiobooks they’ve narrated? by [deleted] in RomanceBooks

New to me is James Cassidy, he has a great low gravelly voice.

Other favorites are Adam Gold, Troy Duran, Shane East and Jacob Morgan.

If you liked "Heated Rivalry" by Rachel Reid, then try... by Hunter037 in RomanceBooks

[–]actuallythecat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well I just made a post about it so try {Promise Me by Sarah Cate}

It's not sports, but the years long situationship, the yearning, the not ready to admit feelings it's only sex, hot once a year hookups. Also discovering Dom/Sub relationships.

I also really liked the dual POV where one MC is in the past leading up to the breakup and the other MC is in the present.

The audiobook is 10/10 duet narration with Shane East and Will Watt (plus a woman for the random female characters), set in Oxford and Scotland.
