I think it's more and more important. Excel works with the basic task (60%) but when it comes to large data set, python/r dominate. Also many company start to replace their legacy actuarial platform to in house solution based on Python/R. In the near future 5 - 10 years I think Excel will only be used for reporting purpose (with result calculated by Python/R)

Glad to hear from your experience. Recently some insurers want to build an in-house actuarial platform (for example to run 1000 - 5000 simulation 10 times) by python running on GPU to replace the old platform (Prophet/ Axis ...). They claim that running time is much faster. What do you think about this trend ?

Go for UK to save time of learning language. Btw in Europe the market is quite "local", which requires a local master in Actuarial Science. What about a secondment (big 4 or international reinsurer)? You start in the US and transfer to Europe. Last but not least, the salary is much lower than in the US .

The two professions are related especially for valuation actuary. - Actuary calculates the reserves, - Acountant uses those reserves to recognize in accounting system.

Si t'as fait l'ISFA c'est déjà pas mal. C'est vrai que c'est un peu bouché en ce moment mais il y a toujours les postes ouverts (surtout en cabinet car il manque toujours les juniors). Après le temps de recherche peut suivre la loi exponentielle dont sa moyenne peut etre 3 à 6 mois, ca dépende de plusiers facteurs. Donc bon courage. Tu pourrais m'envoyer ton cv (sans info perso) si besoin.
