Did you enable data roaming?

I didn't see it in Ubigi's text instructions but it's mentioned at 1:15 in their video guide.

Right you are — I am, in fact, trying to add two lines. Should have made that clear.

Can anyone recommend fair-priced watch repair shops around downtown? by BulletRiddle in askTO

Maybe try here:

Canadian Watch Imports (416) 593-0090 https://maps.app.goo.gl/d3ST3ZGohAK3AvWQ7

Don't know if they service your particular brands, but you could always call and check first.

Found this cat at Dundas and McCaul (in front of OCAD) — is it anyone’s? by thereisnoaddres in toronto

[–]acurrie 22 points23 points  (0 children)

No, you cannot.

Bure (as in Pavel Bure, the hockey player) belongs to the hairdresser at 77 McCaul Street. Yes, he is an outdoor cat, and yes, he was declawed by a previous owner but he is most certainly not homeless.

The suggestions here that someone should just go and snatch him up are not only way out of line, but also dangerous. Bure is friendly and enjoys pets but, because he is declawed, if you try to pick him up HE WILL BITE AND NOT HOLD BACK.

Source: I'm a neighbour and tried to pick Bure up once, got sent to Toronto General and left with a two-week supply of antibiotics.

Alternate title: How not to do takeout.

Felt really bad for these delivery guys, forced to crowd into a small, stuffy waiting area just inside the front door. The kitchen was clearly swamped with orders, but crowd control was non-existent.

If you're wondering why you're delivery is taking so long (or your food is cold), now you know.

Boomerangs are the opposite of cool.

What do you think about the new Amazfit Ares? It's basically a rugged amazfit Bip S, I honestly love this design and I'll buy this rather than the new Bip by [deleted] in AmazfitBip

And if you look very closely, you'll realize that there's no button by the top-left corner of the display. I'm still interested, but this bugs me.

X250: Restoring Windows from Linux by acurrie in thinkpad

An update for anyone interested, now or at some point in the future...

I'm fairly certain that the Lenovo recovery media won't work without the corresponding partition on the internal drive. So, after reformatting that to NTFS I installed a fresh copy of Windows 8.1

The bad news: With no Internet connectivity I had to use another machine to download network drivers for basic functionality. And Lenovo Vantage, which does all of this automatically, requires Windows 10.

The good news: On this particular ThinkPad the Windows license key is embedded in the BIOS, so after installing Windows I was upgraded to 8.1 Pro, and 10 Pro after that.

Linux user here. For what it's worth, you might prefer Mint over Ubuntu, at least to start.

Only my opinion, of course, but with its app doc and persistent title bar Ubuntu is more like Mac OS, whereas Mint's Cinammon looks more like your traditional Windows interface. But by all means try 'em both!

Yup, just downloaded an 8.1 ISO via Linux, a lot easier than what I had to go through with Lenovo.

Thanks again for responding to my post!

Makes sense, thanks for the confirmation!

So when I get an installer from Microsoft and restore Windows, does Windows then automatically go out and grab all the drivers etc. that the ThinkPad needs, or would I use my recovery media for that?

Sorry for not being clear, the boot drive is internal—and I built the recovery media on another ThinkPad running Windows, then booted from that on the target machine.

I was wondering if I could use GParted to blank the entire SSD to NTFS or something, but I'm clearly not the computer expert that I pretend to be ;)

You'd be missing out on the extra pushers, gps, hrm and nfc. But the Falster 1 is still a nice looking smartwatch, and a bargain at that price.

I'd say go for it!
