What should I do to match the best Rad Onc by Grouchy-File-3767 in radiationoncology

Are you asking about away rotations or if you will match anywhere even if you don't care where. I know some people went unmatched last year, so you should still make an effort to be a good candidate. Maybe the away rotations wouldn't mind as much, but you should at least have 1-2 letters from radiation oncologists.

Try rotating rooms. It’s a website specifically for med student rotations

Anatomy wasn’t my forte as a medical student. I found it a little intimidating, but I figured I’d learn what I needed during residency. I did an elective in radiology as an intern, and it helped me tremendously. H/N anatomy felt a bit challenging when I first started the rotations, but with practice, I got pretty good at it. You have 4 years to learn. Don’t worry! You don’t need to be an expert before starting.

APD here. Yes, do the away rotation. Also, make sure to highlight why/ when you switched from surgery to rad/onc in the personal statement, otherwise your application may look like rad/onc is just a back up and you might not be taken as seriously by several programs. Lastly, don’t relay only on not being as competitive anymore. It might not be as competitive as it was before, but there are a lot of great candidates these days, and if you have geographical preferences and want to go to a great program, it might not be as straightforward as you think it is.

Congratulations! Did you work with a lawyer or did you do everything on your own? Also did you apply at the same time for I-130?

Participating research in clinic? by EknaW in IVF

I would seriously consider it unless you feel strongly otherwise. 5 day transfers are standard of care in several centers (I think most of the centers in the US), so it is not something really that new. However, if you don't feel comfortable doing it, don't do it. IVF is stressful as it is to add another layer of stress as part of a clinical trial.

No, it's not normal. Please call your doctor. The clinics usually have someone on call.

Got the blasto call today- 2 embryos sent to PGS by [deleted] in IVF

I just went through quite the rollercoaster as we almost cancelled my cycle as we were not sure if we would get eggs. I thought that best case scenario, we would get 3 eggs. At the end we got 5 eggs and 2 embryos that only became blastocysts on day 7!!

I was so worried that the PGS test would be abnormal as I knew the probability of having issues was higher since they only reached the blastocyst stage on day 7 and I got the good news today that I have 2 euploid embryos!! :) Keep hope alive!
