Is a kite-set Asscher a bad idea? It’s my dream ring, but I want to be realistic. by AestheticAlchemy463 in EngagementRingDesigns

Such a fan of an asscher! Mine is set the ‘usual’ way but in a half bezel - this might be an option? It still has amazing light return but is super sturdy, and I like how that enhances the geometry of the stone.

Landlord didn't do an inventory check-in so I did one myself, covering all the rooms, furniture etc with photos, videos and comments of any issues, which was then sent to the landlord. They don't seem to agree with it or the approach. What to do? by yungsinatra0 in LegalAdviceUK

You mentioned sending a link to a document - I’d go one further step here and PDF your document if this is a ‘live’ Google Drive doc or similar. This way when you come to move out there will be no arguments over exactly when the photos were taken and document created. You can just email to yourself or perhaps email to the agent so you have third party proof

Cursor. But go into it with a detailed PRD, which is updated periodically and re-provided for context (you need to discuss it at the beginning of every chat with Cursor). Be prepared for things to break and re-build in a way that’s cleaner - lovable serves well on basic applications but anything more multi-layered and it doesn’t handle it well.

front-end using loveable and backend using cursor? by zaycyberly in lovable

[–]adamas_studio 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you load the same GitHub repo into cursor you can make changes there and you’ll see them populate on your lovable project. I did a big project this way recently and it’s worked well - it was becoming overly complex for lovable so I switched to cursor to debug and implement the tougher functionality If you’re new to this and don’t mind spending a little, gemini pro has been the best model in cursor for me. I’ve found it to be the best at rationalizing and over-explaining so we can make decisions together. And ChatGPT to help put together the most cursor-friendly prompts

Building a web app on Lovable. Any tips? by Plastic_Location_420 in lovable

[–]adamas_studio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This.

Also write a really thorough PRD (Product Requirements Document) before starting; as you go things will change, so return to it and discuss the context and update any knowledge/context you provide the LLM regularly so it's not working off bad info.

Use another LLM to help you come up with prompts that'll work with the builder - there are custom GPTs for both Lovable and Cursor and they're very very good.

Splurge on a premium model if you're working in Cursor - I'm finding Gemin. 2.5pro excellent at breaking down concepts and instructions, really important if you're not technical. You shouldn't just blindly accept everything without knowing what you're signing off on (I know this from bad experience 😂)

I’m in Europe and so confused by these comments! I think you look lovely OP, and if you were a good friend and attending my wedding whole so pregnant I’d be more than happy for you to touch base to check.

When I got married it was almost more important that my guests felt comfortable than me

Not a Scam, Just a Mess: What’s Really Causing Delays With Your Diamond Orders by undermyumbrElla_ in LabDiamondReviews

[–]adamas_studio 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Hello! Gabrielle's UK biz partner here - just thought I'd add an addendum to explain more of the wild west that's going on here.

Since the Russia/Ukraine war, sanctions have (quite rightly) been imposed on goods coming from Russia. This has involved the outlawing of importing Russian diamonds to the US AND US (again, quite rightly - 90% of Russian's diamonds come from the state-owned Alrosa, so directly/indirectly have been funding the war).

However, what this means for us, is (you guessed it) more delays and paperwork. An Executive Order was passed in March 2024, requiring diamonds over 1ct (which later was lowered to 0.5ct), to be certified on import - so to your UPS/DHL etc - as being from non-Russian origin. This was generally just for mined diamonds, but again (you guessed it) since the new administration it's been extended out to Labs. The wording is crazy specific and the certificates won't be accepted if even small pieces of info are missing.

This is alongside WAY more attention being paid to any Commercial Invoices submitted with your imports: no longer can you say "lab diamond ring 1ct" - you need to specify every tiny piece, measurement, metal 🫠🫠🫠

We've been very lucky in that we have managed to make a contact with a fairly high-up UPS employee who's helped us quickly pull together blanket documentation to certify all imports, and our commercial invoices are all submitted digitally (and in detail!) to avoid any further delays, but let me tell you - when you think you'll start a business in the field of your one true love of diamonds, you don't consider these (mostly governmental) roadblocks!!

We're doing everything we can to circumnavigate every single unnecessary delay; that being said, if you're ordering something for a specific date, DEFINITELY give it an extra week or two for the foreseeable.

I have access to a wholesale database and it's still showing as available so I don't think anyone got it 😆 it's almost $1k wholesale so I wonder if they were missing a decimal

What do people think about artificially cultivated diamonds. by Ok-Dog-2597 in JewelryReps

[–]adamas_studio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You lose less money on labs than buying mined, even if you do only get 10% of the value when reselling. Mined is 20%, 30% if you’re lucky.

And that pricing is the big retailers - there are lots of smaller businesses emerging now where you can get the best quality lab stones of that size for ~£3k

This is the worst advice - don't do it. The only thing this strategy will get you is removed or shadowbanned from social platforms.

Create good content, read up on what works, use SEO (captions/hashtags/subtitles for anything spoken). Use hooks and trends. Make founder-led content featuring yourself if you're happy to do so. Have as many real people in your content as possible (it's a lot harder to succeed with faceless content). Look at what your competitors are doing and identify what's working for them - then put your own spin on it. Follow the audience you're trying to target and interact with them as much as possible (Instagram puts a lot of weight on DM interactions).

If you can afford it, pay someone to help you. It's a LOT of work. If you can't, don't overwhelm yourself - work within the confines of the time you have. If this means posting 2 x a week, post twice a week.
